Adam Driver Curses Out Critic Of ‘Ferrari’ Crash Scenes

Actor Adam Driver has been getting a lot of love from fans as the evil Kylo Ren and the redeemed Ben Solo in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy.

However, the actor’s new role in “Ferrari” may prove to be just as controversial as the last three movies set in a galaxy far, far away, as he slammed critics of his new feature film during a recent Q&A session.

On Sunday, November 12, Adam Driver was answering questions about his new film during a screening at the Polish Camerimage Film Festival.

“What do you think about [the] accident scene? They seem a little harsh, drastic, and, I must say, cheap to me,” a critic ventured, asking the “Hungry Hearts” actor, “What do you think?”

The 39-year-old actor responded, “F— you. I do not know. Next question.”

During the screening, the “Marriage Story” actor received the EnergaCamerimage Special Award for an Actor. He also introduced “Ferrari” in the Camerimage Grand Prix, according to Variety.

As The Blast previously reported, Adam Driver is replacing “The Greatest Showman” actor Hugh Jackman in the titular role of Italian sports entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari in the biographical drama. The film also stars Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Patrick Dempsey, Jack O’Connell, Sarah Gadon, and Gabriel Leone.

The film is set in 1957 and follows the story of Ferrari trying to navigate a complicated family life while entering his racing team in the iconic 1,000 mile race across Italy known as the Mille Miglia. During the race, driver Alfonso de Porttago blew a tire on his Ferrari sports car and crashed into the crowd, killing nine individuals.

Although Enzo Ferrari and the tire manufacturer were charged with murder, the case was later dismissed.

Adam Driver Doesn’t Actually Drive Any Cars In The Movie

Despite looking like the “65” actor drove a car throughout the movie, Adam Driver admitted that he wasn’t actually allowed to drive anything for insurance reasons. At the 80th annual Venice Film Festival in August, Driver said, “They won’t let me drive the car because of insurance,” according to Us Weekly. “As I said before, making a film is a miracle and they don’t want me to touch the most expensive thing in the world. [set].”

The “House of Gucci” actor explained that the puppet was actually behind the wheel at the beginning of the film. “Again, they don’t trust me with small equipment.” He continued to joke, “Big appliances, like sandwiches, they’ll let me handle.”

The film is directed by Michael Mann, who is also the filmmaker behind films such as “Heat” and “Miami Vice.” Mann, 80, served as a consultant on 2019’s “Ford vs. Ferrari” and has been interested in making a film about Ferrari for years.

While some celebrities cut carbs to get in shape for a role, Adam Driver once brought a whole rotisserie chicken with him while attending Juilliard. In an episode of the “Film Reroll” podcast, as previously reported by The Blast, his former classmate, Scott Aiello, revealed that Pemandu’s peers once saw the actor walking around campus with a giant roast chicken in one hand.

Aiello claims that the “Girls” star would “walk around school with a whole chicken in one hand and a jug of water in the other.” The Oscar-nominated actor backed up the claims himself in a 2014 interview with GQ. While attending Juilliard, the actor admits that he used to run from his apartment in Queens to the school’s campus in Manhattan to shape his fit physique. She even admits to starting her day with six eggs before going to the grocery store and picking up a roast chicken for the rest of the day!

Fortunately for fans, the actress has revealed that she no longer follows a strict diet to stay in shape, even though the “Rotisserie Chicken Challenge” has been making the rounds on TikTok.
