Al Roker evokes sweet memories to commemorate daughter Courtney’s second wedding anniversary with her husband, Wesley Laga.
The 68-year-old weatherman has been going through a tough time with his health issues over the past few months, but spending quality time with loved ones, especially his pregnant daughter Courtney— who tied the knot with her beau on June 5, 2021— has certainly made up for it that lost time.
Amidst her return to work after knee surgery, the “Today” co-host showed how much she loves her baby girl and her husband, Wesley, by paying them a sweet tribute on their second wedding anniversary.
“Today’s” Al Roker Tributes Pregnant Daughter Courtney On Her Second Wedding Anniversary
On Monday morning, the day of the celebration, the reporter chose to jot down an adorable note for Courtney and Wesley to celebrate their special day on Instagram. She shared cute wedding photos of the sweethearts and their latest pictures. Another snap features the father and daughter duo.
Undoubtedly, the picture of the lovebirds sums up how much they love each other. They smiled cheerfully towards the camera and looked happy to be in their respective spaces. While the two looked stunning in their wedding attire for the first post, the second showed them dressed casually at their baby shower.
Wesley wore a navy blue suit, a light pink T-Shirt underneath and black office shoes. Instead, the recipe developer’s baby bump peeked through a deep pink long-sleeved dress. She opted for black flat sandals and was not glam for the event.

The following photo shows the grandparents-to-be with their adorable children at the same event. For his outfit, he styled his denim pants with a pink shirt and a suit jacket. The father of three also wore a cream Fedora hat and glasses to complete his look. Alongside the beautiful pictures, the doting father wrote:
“2 years ago today, they both tied the knot. Today we celebrate their arrival, baby girls. Very excited.”
Fans, who know what a great year it has been for Al and his loved ones, were quick to flood the comments section with kind words. “Awww, Congratulations…being a Grand-Parent is the best!!! Enjoy him ?,” wrote one.
Another commenter said, “You are having the time of your life. There is no way to describe the joy of being a grandparent in words!” A third added, “CONGRATULATIONS almost, Grandpa!.” At the same time, other fans wanted to know if he would go with “Papa Al or Grampa.”
Luckily for fans, back in March, the “Quest for Camelot” voice actress mentioned her grandfather’s nickname of choice when her beautiful daughter revealed her pregnancy news on social media.
Courtney shared a set video to Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” remix to her Instagram, sharing that she and her partner are about to welcome their first child together.
The transition of the clip shows scenes of the happy couple in various ensembles, postures and gestures. Finally, the post gives an insight into their baby’s sonogram. The black-and-white image shows the skull, nose and mouth of the fetus.

“A new adventure is about to begin,” the “Will & Grace” actor’s eldest daughter wrote in a caption with a heart and baby bottle emoji. The exciting announcement prompted equally excited comments from the famous weatherman. He added a follow-up statement, stating that he wanted to be called “Pop-Pop” by his grandchildren.
Weather Man Accidentally Finds Out His Unborn Grandson’s Gender
Last month, The Blast previously shared how the veteran weatherman found out the gender of his unborn grandchild. He states that the secret was accidentally spilled too early by his daughter.
Last month, while attending the red carpet of the Broadcasting Awards and Cable Hall of Fame 31st Anniversary Gala in New York City, Roker sat down for an interview with ET on the red carpet.
She excitedly shared that Courtney was due this month, and she dropped the gender before reworking herself to say “grandchild.” During the interview, the TV personality added that she never wanted to know the gender in the first place but received a surprise.
Recounting when her daughter spilled the beans, she revealed that it all started with a simple text message. Roker said, “He is [texted] I took the sonogram, and I said, ‘That baby looks like you,’ and she said, ‘Isn’t she?’ And then you see the bubbles,” referring to the obvious ellipsis in the chat when someone types.
The great father continued, saying, “[She goes] ‘I am sorry!’ and I go, ‘You have one [job]!,” added jokingly, “I want to be surprised.
