Thompson, 17, better known as Honey Boo Boo, hit a big milestone when she proudly announced her graduation from Wilkinson County High School in McIntyre, Georgia, on Saturday.
The young star, who rose to fame through reality television, has shown her commitment to education and personal growth with her latest achievement, and her family can’t contain their joy.
Thompson’s mother, Mama June Shannon, and her sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, took to their respective Instagram accounts to share clips of her in a yellow cap and gown receiving her high school diploma at a graduation ceremony.
“I’m so proud of her, she’s our 2023 graduate, and yes, we screamed WTG LANA all the time,” Mama June, 43, wrote in the caption of her post, adding in the comments section, “AND YALL KNOW I SCREAMED JOB IT SMOOCHIE LAST TIME .”
For her part, Lauryn, 23, wrote, “To say I’m proud is an understatement. To witness this next chapter, I was amazed. Be amazed at how far you have grown, how beautiful your soul is, & most importantly, how far you have overcome all obstacles.” The proud sister continued, “To hear your name called & see you walk; My pleasure. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter of your life is. Please always know I’m your biggest fan & will always & forever scream the loudest for you. I love you, Lana.”

Weeks before her high school graduation, the former “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star shared her disbelief about graduating from high school as she showed off her graduation outfit in a series of Instagram photos.
In some photos, Thompson poses in a bright pink cap and dress, while in others, she wears a sweatshirt with jeans that say “senior” on one leg and “class of 2023” on the other.
“I have less than 30 days left to graduate. I am very proud of myself and how far I have come [come],” she captioned the post. “There are things that I didn’t think I would make it this far, but I did.” Thompson first gained widespread recognition through the popular reality TV show “Toddlers & Tiaras.” Her infectious personality and catchy one-liners soon landed her a spin-off series, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

Thompson’s horse is decorated with a display of pink and purple flowers and hot pink feathers. “She looks so beautiful. She was so happy that the day went smoothly despite the chaos and everything was a bit last minute getting ready for prom,” said her mother, Mama June.

Thompson was recently implicated as a witness in a case that saw the arrest of her boyfriend after fleeing from police and an outstanding warrant in a three-mile car chase in Monroe County, Georgia.
The incident reportedly happened after an officer ran a tag on a Dodge Charger in front of a gas station and confirmed that the vehicle’s owner had an outstanding warrant on his credit.
The officer then attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off. follow People magazine, the car was disabled by a precision immobilization technique (PIT) which was then used by officers. Carswell was arrested for DUI, fleeing, failure to maintain lane, and following too closely. The couple previously faced criticism from fans over their age difference where he addressed it and said he didn’t care.
