New Mexico prosecutors are set to charge Alec Baldwin again with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the 2021 shooting on the set of his film “Rust” that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The impending charges were reported by NBC News, which cited two sources close to the case.
Baldwin’s case will go before a grand jury in mid-November, sources added.
There have also been recent rumors of a possible plea deal, they said.
Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, Baldwin’s lawyers with the Quinn Emanuel firm, told The Post: “It’s unfortunate that a terrible tragedy has turned into this misguided prosecution. We will answer any charges in court.”
Special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis dismissed Baldwin’s initial involuntary manslaughter charges in April because of “new facts” in the case.
New Mexico’s legal team, however, retained the right to re-charge the actor, writing, “This decision does not absolve Mr. Baldwin of criminal wrongdoing and charges may be refiled.”
The latest update comes almost exactly two years after Hutchins was shot when Baldwin’s prop gun went off on the set of the Western movie on Oct. 21. 2021.

Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.
Baldwin told ABC News he “doesn’t know” how live bullets got into the ‘Rust’ set, but added he “didn’t pull the trigger” on the Colt .45 revolver.
Investigators who took the gun apart found the weapon had worn joints and the trigger control was malfunctioning, according to NBC sources.
