Alice Cooper, the “Godfather of Shock Rock” just shocked his fans when he recently made transphobic remarks in an interview. Not only did the makeup brand drop her from an upcoming collaboration, but heartbroken fans wondered why she didn’t bother to educate herself about the trans community before targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

Alice Cooper just dropped a new album, “Road,” and informed his 1.5 million fans via an Instagram post, writing, “Belt up, the wait is finally over. Way out today! Get in your car, turn it around, and let’s go together! But remember, this is not your Father’s Road Trip…”
In a recent interview with “Stereogum” magazine, Cooper was asked about his views on sexuality since in a 1974 interview with SPEC, he was more forward-thinking on questions about sexuality and gender. At the time, he felt the world would soon become bisexual. But now, it seems that Cooper, whose real name is Vincent Damon Furnier, believes that gender identity is a fad.
Cooper confirmed the same in his comments, stating, “Yes. I understand that there are transgender cases, but I’m afraid it’s also a trend, and I’m afraid there are many people who claim to be this just because they want to be that. I think it’s wrong when you has a six-year-old who doesn’t know. He just wants to play, and you confuse him by telling him, ‘Yeah, you’re a boy, but you can be a girl if you want.'”
Fans seemed heartbroken by the comments, as one person wrote, “Legally heartbroken rn I adore you and for 23 years of my existence. You seem like a man with his head and heart in the right place. I’m very hurt and disappointed with you according to the media as a Transphobe.”
Fans Feel Betrayed By His Anti-Trans Comments

Cooper also feels that he sees it more logically, going on to say, “I see it this way, in a logical way: If you have these genitals, you’re a man. If you have that genitalia, you’re a girl. There’s a difference between ‘I’m a boy who’s a girl, or I’m a girl who’s a boy’ and wanting to be a girl. You were born a man. Now, the difference is that you want to be a woman. Okay, that’s something you can do later if you want. But you are not a man born a woman.”
Cooper added that parents should encourage little doubt in their child’s gender identity in such cases, and take them to a pediatrician who can provide proper care.
There were many who tried to tell him that he was wrong…
Wrote one Instagram user, “Alice. literally no one – I mean ABSOLUTELY NO ONE – is telling 6 year olds, who were born girls, that they are boys. Not to mention NO CHILDREN GET GENDER CONFIRMING SURGERY. the only transition happening to trans youth is changing our names on the school name roll (NOT LEGALLY – in school documents ONLY), our pronouns, & using terms we like & identify with the most. To get surgery, we have to go through YEARS of waiting with MANY doctors even though it is CONSIDERED okay to undergo upper or lower surgery. we’re not monsters, & we’re not indoctrinating anyone – we just want trans youth to survive.”

Cooper didn’t stop there. She feels people can use gender identity to their advantage leading to sexual assault and more, even though fans try to explain to her that this is not how gender identity or instability works.
There were some fans who tried to stand by him, commenting, “I know there’s a lot of BS going on around you right now because the media has lit up something you said when you were just answering a question that was asked of you. All respect, and I know that you respect other people because that’s exactly what you said even if people forgot to read that part. You’re entitled to your opinion.”
Johnny Depp, a long-term friend, band member and collaborator, is not silent on the same.
Meanwhile, Vampyre Cosmetics has dropped their upcoming collaboration with Cooper, declaring that it supports the LGBTQ+ group.
