In June, it was announced that “Who’s the Boss?” The revival landed a deal with Amazon Freevee. Milano and Danza, 71, will reprise their iconic roles as Tony and Samantha Micelli, set 30 years after the original series ended. The show will focus on the relationship between the characters of Danza and Milano. The series will still explore generational differences and different parenting styles like the original.

There’s been talk circulating about a possible sequel since 2020. Milano spoke to ET a few weeks ago about the revival. “I am very skeptical about this. And then I talked to Tony…and I was kind of excited,” he said. “I was like, ‘If we can put this together in a way that really stays with the whole progressive thing we had in the ’80s.’ Angela is a single mom who raises her kids, owns her own business, is divorced, has a gregarious cougar mom who stays in the backyard talking about hickeys and then she hires a guy to clean her house. I mean, in the ’80s it was huge.”

He went on to explain that he hopes to keep the show progressive, and also revealed that the script was submitted to Freevee before Thanksgiving.

Milano posted information about the upcoming sequel on Instagram in August 2020 captioning a throwback photo of her and Danza, “?ANNOUNCEMENT? I’M SO EXCITED!#WhosTheBoss is coming back!!! I’ve been wanting to share this for a long time and now I can! ? We think it’s a good time to tell where these great characters are today. Can’t wait to share their stories with you. Very happy.”
