Alyssa Hints On Pregnancy

Scott and Cannon’s son, Zen, was diagnosed with high-grade glioma, a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer, at just two months old.
After her passing, Cannon opened up about her and Scott’s decision to forgo chemotherapy.
Talk with Many people, Cannon said, “We started asking, ‘Is there a way to prevent this?’ If not, how much longer do we have?’ The conversation quickly turned to, ‘How can we give him the best life for the time he has?’ It could be weeks, it could be months, it could be years.”
Sadly, Zen only lived a few months before the cancer claimed his life.
Cannon explained he and Alyssa started having “quality of life” conversations when trying to decide if chemo was the right choice.
“We could have had that existence where he had to stay in the hospital, connected to a machine, for the whole time,” he explained. “As someone who has undergone chemotherapy before, I know the pain. To see that happen to a 2 month old, I don’t want that. I don’t want him to suffer.”
The TV personality has undergone chemotherapy in the past to treat her Lupus.
Cannon and Alyssa ultimately decided the best solution was to keep their baby boy as happy as possible in his final months.

“He was gasping for air,” he said. “We’d wake up, and he wouldn’t breathe for maybe five to 10 seconds at a time, and then he’d take a deep breath. You can see it scares him. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced.”
“My heart is broken,” Cannon said exclusively Many people. “I wish I could do more, spend more time with him, take more pictures. I wish I could hug him longer.”
Last week, Cannon shared the tragic news on his talk show “Nick Cannon.”
“My goal is to make everyone smile every day and forget their worries, so I never thought I would cry on live television,” he said. “I truly believe you can’t heal until you feel.”
To honor Zen’s life, Scott and Cannon launched a pediatric cancer foundation called “Zen’s Light.”
