Amanda Bynes was spotted out and about for the first time since re-entering a mental health facility for treatment. Bynes was reportedly shopping in Orange County, California.
Last month, Bynes checked herself into a mental facility after choosing to forego the outpatient treatment she was initially prescribed.
The former child star has faced several challenges in recent months, from calling 911 for herself after a psychotic episode to being placed on psychiatric hold.

Bynes appears to be on the mend while in a mental facility in California. Pictures and videos obtained by TMZ shows the former actress out and about on what appears to be a shopping trip.
The “She’s The Man” star looked casual in a gray T-shirt, black leggings and a plaid shirt wrapped around his waist.
According to the publication, people who spotted Bynes over the weekend claimed she stopped by a smoke shop on Friday around 6:30 p.m.
The former actress, who was said to be looking “in good spirits”, was later seen with a shopping bag full of groceries she spotted from Ralph’s supermarket.

Sources close to Bynes shared with TMZ that she had advanced into the center’s minimal supervision group, giving her more freedom to leave the facility at certain times to do her own shopping and go for walks.
The former actress is reported to be in good condition and does not need to be closely monitored or placed under surveillance.
Although Bynes has been allowed to leave the facility for personal reasons, sources shared with the news outlet that she plans to stay longer to continue her mental health treatment as an inpatient.
Bynes reportedly prefers being around therapists, medical staff and other patients, as it gives her some company and a way to socialize, unlike being isolated in her apartment.

In March, Bynes was spotted naked on the streets of LA. He reportedly called 9-1-1 on himself and also flagged down a cab that took him to the nearest police station.
As reported by Explosion, Bynes told the taxi driver that he was coming down from a psychotic episode, and when he got to the police station, the mental health team concluded that he should be placed in 5150 psychiatric custody. Bynes was fortunately unhurt despite her extremely vulnerable condition at the time.
The former child star was then placed in psychiatric custody again in June after LAPD officers arrested him following a distress call from a woman later confirmed to be Bynes herself.
After his arrest, he was taken to a nearby police station and given a mental health evaluation by a medical team. At that time, TMZ reports that Bynes is considered a danger to herself and others around her.

Bynes was under conservatorship for nine years, which lasted from 2013 to 2022. Her parents reportedly no longer wanted conservatorship, as she had managed her independence well until her mental health breakdown in March.
Insiders disclose to Daily Mail that the “What A Girl Wants” star has been urged by doctors to “stay away” from her ex-fiancé, Paul Michael. They explained that friends and family are convinced that the ex-couple’s separation had a significant impact on Bynes’ mental health breakdown and problems. They also thought Michael was “not a healthy and safe person for him to be around.”
According to the source, Bynes and Michael were very “dependent on each other, and the latter part of their relationship was toxic due, in part, to the fact that they met in rehab.”
