Amanda Kloots Marks Late Husband’s Mom’s 72nd Posthumous Birthday

Amanda Kloots has celebrated the posthumous birthday of her late mother-in-law, Lesley Cordero.

The fitness instructor made sure she poured her heart out when she paid tribute to Lesley on her 72nd birthday at the weekend. The bittersweet moment came nearly six months after she announced that her parents had passed away and nearly a year after her son and Kloots husband died of complications related to COVID-19.

Although Lesley’s death shocked Kloots, whose friendship with the older woman had helped her deal with the death of her husband, Nick Cordero, she had marked her 72nd birthday after her death. Taking to his Instagram story, the “Fit for Christmas” actor posted an image of him and Lesley beaming for the camera as they posed on the set of “The Talk.”

The white-haired parent wore a long black dress and floral jacket, while her daughter-in-law wore a short floral number, highlighting her long, toned legs. On the other side of the sweet photo, the Broadway insider wrote:

“Happy Birthday heavenly mother @lesleycorderofineart will be 72 today. Lesley was the most amazing mother and friend. She is probably the strongest woman I have ever met, facing life’s challenges with more resilience and love than anyone could have imagined.”

Kloots confessed that he, his son Elvis Eduardo, and others who knew his beloved mother-in-law miss her every day. As mentioned above, the dancer’s old wounds were reopened earlier this year when he had to deal with Lesley’s passing.

According to The Blast, the mother of one took to Instagram to drop photos featuring her late husband’s mother holding Elvis, enjoying a date with loved ones, and even twinning with Nick during a date night. The picture came with a long caption that the heartbroken actress started with:

“My heart is broken [sic] today. Nick’s mother, my mother-in-law, Lesley Cordero, has passed away. Lesley and I became very close when Nick got sick. We are soldiers who go to war every day, fighting for the men we love.”

After praising Lesley as “a great force, a woman of strength and great advice,” the “Good Vibrations” star admitted that the fine artist was a “huge help” to him “as a fellow widower, understanding how to navigate this new life.”

The 41-year-old then touched on Lesley’s “very close” relationship with her late son, mentioning that the two spoke to each other “every day.” “This one is hard for me. I don’t know how to understand it, there really is no way. It’s not reasonable. It was during this time that I truly hated death, loss and grief,” Kloots continued.

The “Bullets Over Broadway” star later added that her heart goes out to “the Cordero family, literally the strongest family I know,” concluding, “I’m going to miss you so much. Thank you for loving me, taking me as your daughter. Thank you for loving Elvis and being the best grandma ever. Rest in peace mom. I will love you forever.”

Television Personality Teaches Critics About Dealing With Grief

In January, The Blast reported that shortly after he shared the sad news of Lesley’s death, Kloots returned with a lesson for critics who expected him to curl up in bed mourning.

As it turns out, one person sent a message to his Instagram DM claiming that “The Talk” co-hosts are “not sad by their standards.” In response, the blonde beauty shared a clip of her attending a dance class by Ryan Heffington, writing in the caption:

“The most powerful thing I’ve learned through grief is what I need to do for myself to release the pain- which helps me process the trauma so it doesn’t stay stuck. One thing I do is exercise and another @dancingwiththestars really helped me realize, dance. Dancing every day during the show released a pent-up pain I didn’t know I still had in my body.”

She also explained that the class helped her release the pain, shock, trauma, and PTSD from the loss, even though she had to dance in front of strangers. Ultimately, Kloots wants others like him to find the right path to help them heal from the pain of losing a loved one without worrying about what the audience thinks is the right way to grieve.
