The music executive’s longtime partner, Jacqueline Avant, was fatally shot during a home invasion on December 1, 2021. Tyler Perry Studios founder recently recalled her passing with her husband’s death, believing the lovebirds reunited in heaven.

A day after news of the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree’s death, the “Madea’s Family Reunion” star updated her Instagram page with a touching tribute to the late entertainer. The producers of the film shared an image depicting the impact of the deceased on the entertainment industry.

In the photo, Avant poses with several music icons, including Jay-Z, Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Pharell Williams, Lionel Richie, and the late Whitney Houston. There is also a heartbreaking picture of the deceased and his wife.
This emotional slideshow is captioned with the “Diaries of a Crazy Black Woman” producer’s love and respect for the North Carolina native. The Primetime Emmy Award winner began her lengthy message with her thoughts on “mateship.”
“I believe that when two soul mates walk the earth together for many years, either through marriage or friendship or both when one of them leaves behind a soul left on this planet longing for that love, that friendship, that relationship,” the father of one explained.
According to the New Orleans native, as he reflects on Avant’s passing, all he can consider is “the beauty of him reuniting with his soulmate Jacqueline.” Perry noted that the thought of the couple together made her “heart smile.”
Commenting on the legacy of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoree, the 53-year-old claimed it was impossible to find a corner of the music industry that was not positively affected by the late. True to his word, the filmmaker challenges anyone to find contradictory evidence of the media personality’s massive achievements.
“His legacy will live on on the top shelf because that’s how high he set the bar. And like every great legend, he leaves us with something to achieve,” Perry wrote of the beloved Black Godfather.
Saying his final farewell, the playwright concluded, “You’ve done everything you were supposed to do here, my friend, and we’re all better for it. Fare thee well, sir. Sending heartfelt love to Nicole, Alex, Ted, and everyone in the family.”

The entertainer’s family announced the heartbreaking news through a heartfelt statement. “It is with heavy hearts that the Avant/Sarandos family announces the passing of Clarence Alexander Avant,” their message began.
“Through his revolutionary business leadership, Clarence was known as ‘The Black Godfather’ in the worlds of music, entertainment, politics and sports,” the announcement continued, noting that the father of two leaves behind a sea of loved ones who will carry on his memory.
“The joy of his legacy lessens the sadness of our loss. Clarence passed away peacefully at home in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 13, 2023,” the family concluded their statement.

“My heart breaks for Clarence and Nicole and all of the Avant family. This world can be so cruel and cold!! I don’t know what kind of sub-human can shoot an 81-year-old woman in her own home,” lamented the entrepreneur.

The New Orleans native described the incident as “very sad” and vowed to make sure the Avant family gets the justice they deserve. “You can be sure that every resource available will be used to find whoever is responsible for this horrific nightmare,” Perry said.
