Amanda Kloots is grieving the loss of another beloved family member.
Just a few months before the third death anniversary of her late husband, Nick Cordero, Kloots broke the news of the death of her mother-in-law, Lesley. The TV host made the announcement over the weekend, garnering the support of his followers, fans and celebrity friends, including Olivia Munn, who sent him their love without hesitation.
Amanda Kloots Mourns Loss of Former Mother-in-Law
While Kloots appears to be on his way to fully healing from Nick’s death, old wounds have been reopened following his mother’s passing. The mother-of-one could barely hide her emotions as she announced the news with multiple pictures of the parents, starting with a solo shot of her wearing a green apron over a black dress.
A swipe to the left shows Lesley posing with her daughter-in-law on the set of “The Talk” before beaming at the camera with her grandson – Elvis Eduardo – along with his late son. Other pictures show the late parents playing with Elvis, enjoying a family date and twinning with Nick during a day out.

“My heart is broken [sic] today. Nick’s mother, my mother-in-law, Lesley Cordero, has passed away. Lesley and I became very close when Nick got sick. We are soldiers who will go to war every day, fighting for the men we love,” he wrote in a touching tribute.
Referring to Lesley as “a great force, a woman of great strength and great advice,” Kloots admitted that she “was a huge help to me as a fellow widower, understanding how to navigate this new life.” The 40-year-old later described Lesley’s “very close” relationship with her Nick, detailing that she “talks to him almost every day.” He added:
“This one is hard for me. I don’t know how to understand it, there really is no way. It’s not reasonable. This was when I really hated death, loss and grief. My heart goes out to the Cordero family, literally the strongest family I know. I am honored to know them, love them, and call them my brothers and sisters.”
Before ending the emotional tribute, the fitness instructor included a sentimental statement addressed to her mother-in-law, “Mom, my hope is that you are with Nick and Eduardo right now, in their arms. That you are at peace – healthy, happy, no longer in pain or suffering.”
“I will miss you so much. Thank you for loving me, taking me as your daughter. Thank you for loving Elvis and being the best grandma ever. Rest in peace mom. I will love you forever,” he concluded.
Famous actor Chazz Palminteri quickly responded in the comments, “No words to say Amanda… All I can say is… We send our love to you, Elvis and the Cordero family,” while actress Olivia Munn wrote, “Oh Amanda . I am very sorry.”
A deeper look at the comments reveals the personal connection Kloots fans share with Lesley. While one person mentioned how “kind” and “big-hearted” he was, another recounted his encounter at the hospital. A second reviewer said meeting Lesley “was an absolute joy during a dark and painful time.”

The unfortunate incident came six months after the second anniversary of Nick’s death when Kloots declared July 5 as his “new birthday.” The Blast shared that the “Fit for Christmas” actress uploaded a montage of some of her memorable moments with Nick during their relationship.
Set to Justin Bieber’s “Ghost,” the clip features the pair holding hands as they ice skate, locking lips on their wedding day, playing with Elvis, and Nick strumming a guitar.
‘Bullets Over Broadway’ Actor Talks About Dealing With Criticism While Dating
The Blast reported earlier this month that Kloots has dealt with some criticism after he decided to put himself out there again. The actress addressed the situation when she joined Cheryl Burke for a “Diving Deep” conversation related to her transition into dating after losing her husband.
Kloots said that although it took her “a little while to feel okay,” she eventually put her “toe in the water” and went on a date with a widower. The move “helps immediately to break through the discomfort of ‘I come with a lot of emotional baggage.’ You don’t have to explain yourself,” as he explained. After revealing his impatience for “small talk,” “Dancing with the Stars” season 30 added:
“You know the criticism that came from ‘Amanda Kloots dating less than a year after Nick died’? Well, I took a quick bite of it, and I was like, ‘absolutely not.’”
To address this, Kloots began hosting honest and eye-opening conversations with other widows whose situations resonated with hers on Instagram Live.
