Amanda Kloots Offers Advice On Dealing With Grief Over Loss Of A Partner

Amanda Kloots knows what she’s talking about when it comes to grief, because she’s been through one of the worst scenarios imaginable. The mother-of-one, who lost her husband two years ago to severe complications caused by COVID-19, has some advice on how to help people cope with loss.

Despite the ill-fated way the fitness trainer was portrayed, she showed strength and refused to sink into the abyss of endless grief over the loss of her late husband, Nick Cordero. Two years later, she has learned to move on, especially when it comes to raising the son she shares with the late actor.

Kloots recently held a Q&A session on her Instagram story where she answered questions about her children’s books and offered advice to those dealing with the loss of a spouse or loved one, among other things.

One of the questions asked was whether grief gets easier with time, to which he replied, “Grief doesn’t get easier. In a way, it becomes more difficult. It’s something you learn to live with. You fight every day, every day, to be strong, keep going, and keep smiling.”

Another follower took her down memory lane when they asked her which moment she would choose to relive, and her answer was that her honeymoon was spent in South Africa with the late broadway star, which she described as perfection.

The mother-of-one answered the last question with a lengthy message when asked for advice on how to support someone who has recently lost a partner. He begins by stating that one should be aware right away that everyone deals with grief differently and to avoid judging how others grieve.

The 40-year-old added that most of the time, the person experiencing the loss does not realize what they are doing and may try to find a way through it. He compared it to an astronaut in space looking down at the earth and feeling left out from everyone else.

Kloots emphasizes that there is no rulebook to follow, adding, “My advice is from Steve Leder – Be your authentic self. Grieving people need to expect you to be YOU to make them feel normal, that the bottom isn’t falling out.” He concludes by writing:

“If you’re a baker, bake. If you’re a helper, help. If you’re a comedian, tell a joke. Be YOU. Available. Be there.”

In May, the “Dancing With The Stars” finalist discussed the issue of grief with Kelly Rizzo — who also lost her husband, Bob Saget — while opening up about communicating with her late husband.

The 40-year-old compared grief to an onion, saying, “You know how you peel an onion, and it makes you cry? I feel like sadness; why it never ends is because we go on with life, right? So if you think about it, that’s your sadness, the onion.”

The actress added that being a single mother to their son Elvis Eduardo Cordero makes her sad that his father will miss his growing age, especially when he finally grows up and leaves home. He added:

“When your people die, many people will say, Don’t worry. In a year, you will be better. And you, in a way. But I hope someone will say, Don’t worry. Grief never ends, and that’s okay.”

“The Talk” Co-Host Reveals Another Heartache

The Blast recently shared that the dancer opened up about dealing with the loss and the added pain she felt having to explain the late 41-year-old’s absence to their son. Kloots joins Bobbi Brown on her podcast to discuss how September is a difficult month for her as it happens to be their anniversary as well as her birthday.

He revealed that the 3-year-old had started school and started asking questions about his father’s whereabouts. She admitted that explaining to him about her father was very difficult, plus she didn’t like him leaving the house, which made it difficult to balance being a working mother.

The star mentioned that his son remembers his late father, and whenever he asked about him, he would say, “Dada lives in heaven with Jesus, but he is around us all the time. And we can always talk to him; we can hear him singing, and he watches over us all the time. That’s all I’ve said so far.”
