According to our report, Netflix has become the official streaming source for the film adaptation of Jenkins Reid’s 2017 novel and BookTok’s smash hit, “The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo.”
Evelyn and her many lovers almost received the same treatment as “Daisy Jones & The Six”; there were previously plans for the novel to become a Freeform TV series. Jennifer Beals and Illene Chaiken of “The L Word” are in talks to helm the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter according to our report.
What Else Do We Know About ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ Series?
Reese Witherspoon isn’t the only creative excited about the idea of ”Daisy Jones & The Six” becoming a television series!
According to a Vanity Fair profile of the TV show, the series’ executive producers were very interested from the start. Scott Neustadter received “a pre-publication manuscript of the book in 2017,” and it inspired quite the reaction!
“I flipped it over, and absolutely fell in love with it all,” Neustadter told the publication. “Transporting into the Laurel Canyon music scene of the 1970s was, like, the greatest gift I could ever imagine.”
Along with the series’ second executive producer (who is also Neustadter’s wife), Lauren Levy Neustadter, and Michael H. Weber, Neustadter was inspired to capture the same feeling on screen as his first imporession reading the manuscript.
He and Webster are game for “[figure] how to make the experience of watching it the same as what we experience while reading it.”
After casting for Daisy and her crew is finalized, the production team must do their best to overcome a very unexpected obstacle: the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Manufacturing will quickly adapt to adapt to running most businesses virtually; it would be a year and a half before the actors could interact in person again!
Sam Claflin, who plays ‘Lindsey’ to Daisy’s ‘Stevie’ Billy Dunne, brought Vanity Fair into the production, saying, “We all just got to LA and we all had our first meeting, we went out to dinner and then we all went home and disappeared for a year and a half. It was quite disappointing.”
However, Claflin will quickly reveal the bright side of the uninvited break!
“By the time we got back to Los Angeles in June of last year, I think we were all so fired up and excited to meet each other – and we’d all improved massively musically – that we then instantly kind of gelled as a band.”
Riley Keough will play the heroine of the story, with Camila Morrone as Billy Dunne’s wife, Camila. Suki Waterhouse, Sebastian Chacon, Josh Whitehouse and Will Harrison will complete the group. Timothy Olyphant, Tom Wright, and Nabiyah Be will play important characters in Six’s inner circle.
When Can Audiences See the Band Rock Out?
Viewers will finally be able to stream ten episodes of the series in the spring of 2023, on March 3!
Keough, who is Elvis Presley’s grandson, summed up his excitement for the series by giving Vanity Fair a little insight into the ingredients that make the production special.
“I think when you love each other the way we do, it shows on the screen, you know?” he said. “That’s what I’m excited for people to see because it’s authentic, you know? It was an exhilarating experience. And it was something I really needed in my life at that time. I want to make something that makes me feel happy.”
