They seemed unbothered by onlookers and critics as they enjoyed each other’s company over lunch at a Manhattan restaurant. The pair first hinted at their affair when they laughed off rumors that aired in the early days of December but were eventually suspended from on-air duties.

The pair went incognito after being suspended “indefinitely” by ABC following photo and video evidence released by Daily Mailsuggesting that they are in a secret relationship.
ABC News President Kim Godwin issued an office communiqué to address the issue in what it passively described as “an ongoing matter involving GMA 3 anchors TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.”
According to reports, he said, “I understand that continued coverage can distract from the very important work that our team does at ABC News.” He added that “Amy and TJ will remain off-air pending the completion of an internal review, and there will be an anchor rotation on ‘GMA3’ for now.”
The suspension followed a storm of unpleasant remarks from viewers who criticized the network for its indifferent response to the co-anchor’s reported romance.

In an effort to save face and to stop speculation about their romance, the couple had tried to deny the existence of the affair in the first place.
