Angelica Ross continues to shed light on the abuse she suffered on the set of “American Horror Story: 1984.”
After bravely speaking out about being subjected to transphobic comments from co-star Emma Roberts and then getting an apology, the trans-Hollywood star opened up about the awkward conversation.

The “Pose” actor during an interview, explained that right after calling Ross out on his misgendering in front of co-star John Carroll Lynch, he apologized but it wasn’t an entirely healthy experience.

“He apologized and he said, ‘I hate that you walked away from our experience together feeling like that. I look back at what I did and how stupid it was. I’m an ally,'” Ross told The Hollywood Reporter.
The transgender rights advocate then responded, “I was like, ‘No, you’re not. You can’t call yourself an ally. [Allyship] is an action. You need to be honest with me in this conversation. I’m really with you. You’re such a mess.’”
Ross claimed the “Scream Queens” star tried to reach a resolution, saying, “I hope we can move forward and fix this. I see you out there doing a great job out there,” but the 42-year-old isn’t buying it because he responded.
In his words, “I said, ‘Oh, so you see me? Did you see me talking about anti-Blackness? Do you use your platform to amplify the work I do? No, you haven’t. So what kind of ally are you?’ he [Roberts] was like, ‘Okay, OK. There’s more to say there. I want to support the cause you support.’”
Ross, who spoke of Roberts as “the boss” on the set of “AHS:1984” concluded, “The truth of the matter is, I know Emma has big balls. I’ve seen them on set, so I’m not surprised that she called me. This girl not a damsel in distress, forever.”
If Ross ever got an explanation from the 32-year-old about why he was misgendered, the “Her Story” actress responded, “He said, ‘I’m really just referring to myself.’ I said, ‘Don’t. Don’t do it.'”

Looking back on what really happened that day, the CEO of TransTech Social Enterprises recalls, “He didn’t let the makeup team make him look so old. We should be a few years old. So I know from the makeup side what’s going on. So he came on set and I was like, ‘Oh, you look relaxed.’ And he goes, ‘John [the director], Cruel Angelica!’ And he goes, ‘OK, ladies and gentlemen …’ And he goes, ‘Don’t you mean … ladies?’”

During the conversation, Ross also addressed the power imbalance between African-American cast members and their white counterparts.
“I’m just not sure what I’m witnessing. I definitely saw a lot of white men on set in the type of spaces that are dominated by white men,” he explained. “But somehow people like Emma Roberts and others – I mean even Billie Lourd, but Billie Lourd I love – those girls can move on set.”
The Wisconsin native revealed that Roberts and Lourd were able to make things happen with just their words and that she “didn’t know if I was watching a bad girl or if I was just watching a woman standing up for herself.”
Recalling the incident, he said, “At one point, I saw Emma talking to the director, John, about something she wanted to do. He tries to ask Emma to do something, and she doesn’t comply. And he said to him, ‘What are you going to do about it, John? Are you going to cry about it? Wow John didn’t get his way.’ I was like, ‘Well, shit, he’s been in the business a long time, he probably knows what he’s talking about.'”

It turns out that Ross concluded that Roberts was a “bad girl,” not just because of her transphobic remarks but because of her silence about a racist shirt worn by a crew member.
According to the “Framing Agnes” star, the crew responsible for operating the vehicle she drives on camera always wears racist shirts to work.
“One day, ‘BUILD THAT WALL.’ The next day it was white praying hands in front of the American flag, and it said, ‘I DO NOT KNEEL.’ That’s what I remember. This guy has a collection,” Ross said of his colleague’s clothes.
