Anjali Mamgai and Sahil Khan are in a relationship but they always denied it but this was revealed during some reality dance shows. They first met at a dance workshop in April 2017. Although they attended the same school in New Delhi, they never met there because Anjali had morning classes and Sahil had evening classes. Sahil, like Anjali, is a dancer and both of them have appeared in several reality dance shows.
Dancer
Anjali is a freestyle dancer. She enrolled herself in a dance academy where she studied various forms of dance including break, contemporary and freestyle dance.
Auditions for Reality Dance Shows
After years of hard work, she auditioned for the reality dance show Dance Deewane season 1 aired on Colors TV however, she was rejected during the audition and could not make it to the next round.
In 2019, Anjali along with Sahil auditioned for the reality dance show Dance+5 aired on Star Plus but they too could not advance to the next round this time.
In 2021, she once again auditioned for the reality dance show, Dance Deewane Season 3 with her friend Sahil. In this season, they both managed to advance to several rounds before being eliminated in the last round, the Top 5.
In 2022, Anjali qualified for the Top 16 Red Bull Dance Your Style West India Final which took place on 25 September 2022.
India’s Best Dancer (season 3) 2023
In April 2023, she auditioned for the reality dance show India’s Best Dancer Season 3 which aired on SonyLIV; Anjali wowed everyone with her performance and made it to the Top 13. With her dancing skills, she won praise from the judges as well as guests including Mukti Mohan, Hardy Sandhu, and Aruna Irani. Hardy Sandhu appreciated it and said,
Anjali, your performance is too good. I know that you have been struggling and helping your family since you were 13 years old. You have come a long way and it shows in your dance and smile. Hats off to you. A lot of people are going through hardships and I want to tell them that ‘if you can do it, then anyone can do it.'”
With her performance, she got a place in the top 5 contestants of the show.
On the last day of the show, Anjali got maximum marks as she got 10 extra points from the judges for her performance but she could not beat Samarpan Lama in the audience voting round and became the first runner up of the show.

- Sonali Bendre, India’s Best Dancer judge, was impressed by Anjali’s dance performance and her life’s struggle; he gave him the nickname ‘Sher Bachcha.’ He also tied black thread around his ankles to protect him from the evil eye and fed him food with his own hands.
- After leaving home at the age of 13, Anjali took on the responsibility of looking after her mother and siblings. He refused to allow his mother to work and instead started working on his own to support the family.
- Anjali’s childhood was spent in financial constraints that prevented her from participating in school picnics and trips. To make ends meet, he had to work, which affected his studies. However, during the performance, Mukti Mohan, a famous actress, was moved by Anjali’s dedication and commitment to her family.
