The Vogue editors are looking to mix and match the faces we’ve seen walking the famous Met Gala carpet. Sources told Page Six that the guest list will once again be tight and exclusive and well, the Kardashians might not make the cut this year.
Honestly, they’ve had luck making the cut in the past. Usually, the guest list for the Met Gala is something reserved for famous people in the fashion world and as a courtesy of their muses.
Kim Kardashian made the cut initially because of her close relationship with Kanye West, her wardrobe overhaul and the fact that she’s a legitimate celebrity. Vogue hasn’t commented on this whole situation, but it seems plausible.
Met Gala Invitations Not Out Yet

Regardless of the rumours, the hope is that the attendees have not yet received an invitation because no one has come out yet. No one has confirmed or denied if they have been invited yet. There’s still time to see because the event always takes place on the first Monday in May.
This year that falls on May 1. Back in September 2022, the theme was announced by Pharrell Williams a Chanel ambassador that the gala will honor Karl Lagerfeld who is the creative director of Chanel.
Vogue magazine tweeted about the announcement. “Today at the official announcement of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” as the Spring 2023 @metmuseum Costume Institute Exhibition, Pharrell Williams shared a statement about the late Karl Lagerfeld and the legacy he left behind.”
They also shared a clip of Pharrell’s fiery announcement of the theme.

Kim Kardashian Is The First

Kim first attended the gala in 2013 when she was pregnant with North. Since then, she has been with and without her ex-husband, West. Kim tweeted about her Met Gala experience in 2019.
“I don’t know anyone [and] I’m sure nobody wants me there.” He also candidly shared that after the event, “I went home [and] cry after insecurity.” Kim continued to go several times and finally, last year, more of her family was invited.

Kylie Jenner, Kendell Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, and Kris Jenner all attended Kim last year and posed for a family photo on the carpet. Corey Gamble is also there as Kris’s date.
Fans Are Tired Of Influence

Last year was probably one of the biggest years for influencers attending the coveted gala. In addition to the Kardashian and Jenner family, Addison Rae was there for a reason, this was her second time actually.
Joining her are other influencers like Jackie Aina, NikkieTutorials, Emma Chamberlain, Avani Gregg, Chiara Ferragni, and her men. Really, the atmosphere was strange.
Now that the news is out there, it will be interesting to see who makes the cut this year and if it’s possible to leave the Kardashians off the list when they’re basically expected to be everywhere now.
