Anne Heche’s Youngest Son Atlas Gives First Public Comment Since Her Passing

Anne Heche’s youngest son, Atlas Tupper, has spoken publicly for the first time since her death.

The actress, who died after suffering injuries in an accident last August, shared the 13-year-old with her “Men in Trees” co-star James Tupper. Although the couple first met in 2006 on the set of a television drama, it wasn’t an instant love match.

As it turns out, Heche is married to Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, with whom she shares her first child, Homer Heche Laffoon. The late blonde finally broke up with Laffoon and began a relationship with James after filing for divorce.

In the months since his death, the Heche family has been the focus of their legal battle over his estate. However, the opposite happened when James and their son spoke openly about their feelings for him recently.

“My mother is the smartest person I have ever known. He always knows how to solve a problem or help a friend. He always knows the right thing to do. I can’t put into words how grateful I am or how much I miss him,” Atlas said exclusively Los Angeles Investigatorswith his father reading:

“Anne and I have been together for over a decade, we have a beautiful son together and in that time, he has been the definition of light in our lives, always bringing fun, love and energy. He will always be remembered in our hearts and minds.”

When reading James’ message about his ex, it’s hard for many to reconcile him with the same man who got into a legal fight with Homer over the Heche estate last year.

The Blast shares that the “Revenge” actress has filed a petition opposing the 20-year-old’s appeal to “expand his authority” over his mother’s property. In the document, James claims that Homer “has acted in a hostile manner” towards Atlas, refusing to communicate with him or his representatives.

Further claiming that “Atlas has no confidence in [Homer] ability to fulfill his fiduciary duty to Atlas,” the “My Christmas Family Tree” star explained that Heche’s son did not catalog his mother’s belongings before placing them in a storage facility.

The document added that the “Mid-Love Crisis” actor would prefer to have the bond, which Homer previously requested, be set at $2 million, not $800,000. His lawyer — Christopher B. Johnson — argued that Homer already had the authority to do some of the things he asked the court to do, noting that it implied his incompetence and inability “to preserve the assets of the estate.”
