Famous sister’s wife, Janelle Brown has confirmed her split from Kody Brown.
The “Sisters Wives” star shared the shocking news in the trailer for the “Sister Wives: One on One” special, which will debut later this month.
During an in-depth discussion, Janelle and Kody confirmed that the breakup happened a few months ago. The couple welcomed two children, Madison, 27, and Logan, 28, during their marriage. They also adopted four children, Savannah, 17; Gabriel, 21; Garrison, 24; Hunter, 25.
Another sister’s wife, Christine Brown, had previously ended her marriage to Kody. In the trailer, she shares her thoughts on Janelle’s decision to end her marriage to the patriarch.

In a preview for the December 18 episode of TLC’s all-story, Janelle confirmed claims from fans that she and Kody had broken up.
Although she did not reveal the exact date they decided to separate, she shared that there was no going back.
“I think if we both actually sat down, we would look at each other and say, ‘Really?'” the 53-year-old reality star reveals in the clip. “We’ve been apart for a few months.”
Kody echoed similar sentiments to host Sukanya Krishnan, saying, “Yeah, we broke up.” He also shared that his now estranged wife had moved on with her life and there was no point in holding on to their strained bond.
He added, “Janelle has made it clear to me that she’s enjoying her life without me.”
Before separating, the couple shared six children, Madison, 27, and Logan, 28, while Savannah, 17; Gabriel, 21; Garrison, 24; Hunter, 25, is an adopted child from Janelle’s previous marriage.

Signs that Kody and Janelle would soon break up seemed distant in March 2021, when she told US Weekly that sharing Kody with his other wives was challenging at times.
“Of course, I’m still jealous,” he said at the time. “But I learned a long time ago [that] you just have to figure out how to be OK with yourself.”
The TLC reality star continued, “You have strength, and you have blessings, and you have opportunities given to you … you can’t compare. I just think the comparison is, like, the death of plural marriage.”
A few months later, she revealed that her relationship with Kodu was “quite strained,” further hinting at an impending breakup, which has now happened. At the time, the mother of six also stated that leaving the marriage was not difficult, perhaps implying that there was no legal binding to her union.

Janelle’s revelation about leaving Kody comes a year after the patriarch’s other wife, Christine, also decided to end her relationship with him after more than 25 years together.
After the breakup, she thanked her fans for their support and said she had been thinking about making the decision for a long time.
“Thank you for supporting me by leaving Kody,” Christine said in a video cameo, per Us Weekly. “The decision has been a long time coming, and I feel like a much better person divorced than I ever was, and life is great.”
She also voiced her desire to stay calm with Kody despite their split. Christine added, “I just hope that me and Kody can still be friends through this because we’re still silent [really] communicate with each other and so on. I mean, good days and bad days — don’t get me wrong.”

Elsewhere in the trailer for the One-on-One special, Christine weighs in on the breakup between Kody and Janelle.
“For Janelle, I think she’s disappointed and she’s very hurt. And the man she married, she realized that he was completely different. But he is also different,” he said.
Although Christine wasn’t exactly aware of the change she was referring to, most of season 17 showed that there was trouble in paradise between Kody and Janelle even though they were still together at the time.
Meanwhile, Kody is still spiritually tied to Meri and legally married to Robyn. The first episode of “Sister Wives: One on One” premiered on TLC on December 18.
