New York City Mayor Eric Adams got a boost from an unusual source at a lavish Hamptons fundraiser over the weekend: former President Donald Trump’s short-term communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
The Mooch, who famously survived less than 11 days as the Republican president’s front man with the media in 2017, was cited in flyers as co-hosting a two-hour Southampton reception Saturday supporting Adams.
Scaramucci was joined by John Catsimatidis, Todd Shapiro, Charlene Gayle, David Schwartz, Hon. Robert Cornegy, Hon. David Paterson, Victoria Schneps. Vincent Levien, James Malls, Andrew Ansbro and Michael Pitsinos to “respectfully invite” other supporters to join them at Southampton’s Capri Hotel, according to the flyer, a copy of which was obtained by The Post.
The 59-year-old financier has endorsed the Democratic mayor during the controversial 2021 New York City mayoral race. Adams will not be up for re-election until 2025.

Adams has cast himself as a “pragmatic” Democrat who is more supportive of law enforcement and less afraid to fight progressive orthodoxy than others in his party.
Although an outspoken Republican, Scaramucci has a history of playing well with Empire State Democrats.
Last year, for example, he was the first guest on former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s podcast, “As Things … with Andrew Cuomo.”
Scaramucci is currently endorsing Trump’s nemesis and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in the 2024 GOP primary for president.
The Mooch has also issued a heartfelt warning against Trump’s second term.
