Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the only drugs found in Perry’s home were prescribed anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs, though that doesn’t mean they didn’t play a role in her death. The incident is still under investigation.

In addition to the anti-anxiety and anti-depressants found, police also found prescription COPD drugs, which are drugs for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, usually used for people with emphysema or chronic bronchitis.

The “Friends” actor is a smoker and has also battled alcohol and drug addictions; however, before his death, he claimed to be clean.

While on the popular sitcom, “Friends,” the actor, who portrayed Chandler Bing, struggled with addiction, which he hid from many people, including his classmates.

“[I was] at my highest point on ‘Friends’, the highest point of my career, an iconic moment on that iconic show,” the actor explained in an interview while promoting his memoir last year. “When you’re a drug addict, everything is math. I don’t do it to feel high or to feel good. I’m definitely not a party person; I just want to sit on my couch, take five Vicodin, and watch a movie. That was heaven for me. It’s not anymore.”

Perry said he had been clean for 18 months in that time. “I probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober,” he said.

In his 2022 memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” he revealed that he underwent 14 operations on his stomach after he was told he had a “2% chance of survival.”

“The doctor told my family that I had a two percent chance of living,” she told People at the time. “I was put on something called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for your heart and lungs. And that’s called Hail Mary. No one survived that.”

That being said, one of the most interesting things the actor said during his book tour was that he wanted to be remembered “as a man who lived life, loved well, lived well, and helped people. What came across me was a good thing and not something bad.”
