Anubhav Mohanty began his career by featuring in Odia music videos before making his debut in Odia cinema in 2004 with the film “I Love You,” in which he starred alongside Namrata Thapa.
In the same year, she also appeared in two other films, “Saathire” and “Barsha My Darling.”

On 27 April 2013, he joined the regional political party BJD. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed in June 2014 and is the youngest member of parliament in the Rajyasabha. On 23 May 2019, he was elected Member of Parliament from Kendrapara (Lok Sabha constituency) by defeating the previously elected Member of Parliament Baijayant Panda.
Controversy
Allegation of False Educational Qualification.
In 2020, the Odisha Congress stated that the MP had submitted a false educational affidavit before the Election Commission of India. The Congress sought answers on how Anubhav got admission in Kandarpur College when he failed plus two in Christ College. Anubhav has mentioned completing his degree from Shobit Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut. However, the Ministry of Human Resources did not recognize the University in 2010.
Domestic Violence Cases
In September 2020, Varsha Priyadarshini filed a domestic violence case against Anubhav Mohanty under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. Reports indicated that Varsha had asked for alimony in her petition and that Anubhav would harass her after drinking.
