She claims a production manager named Sherin Stanley misbehaved with her. He filed a complaint with the Kerala Film Employees Federation (FEFKA) against the accused; but no action was taken. In an interview, while talking about this incident, he said,
When the FEFKA authorities heard my complaint, I felt they really understood what I was going through. I didn’t realize, at first, that they were just tactically dealing with me. I have submitted the complaint to director B Unnikrishnan. Even Sibi Malayil and Sohan Seenu Lal are also aware of the complaint. No action has been taken against the accused, and he is still working in films.”
- On 28 April 2019, she became a member of the Women’s Cinema Collective (WCC), which speaks out about gender discrimination, assault, safer workplaces and misogyny, especially, in the Malayalam entertainment industry; however, according to Archana, women who belong to the Malayalam film industry and are part of the WCC, later on, face the consequences of joining the WCC. In an interview, he talked about this and said,
After I joined WCC, I lost several opportunities, I was thrown out of one particular project. I stopped getting offers or calls to auditions. I don’t know if men are becoming more self-aware or scared, but they are definitely becoming more cautious when talking to women. They know that we have a collective like the WCC where we can raise our voice to bring them down.”
