Ariana Grande fully embraces her role as “Glinda the Good Witch.”
The triple threat shared a new and never-before-seen photo of herself in the recording booth wearing pink and working on the movie “Wicked.”
He didn’t include sound on the video, but we know he split his time in the US and across the pond in London for the film.
Ariana Shares BTS Look About Filming “Wicked”
Grande wears a cute school girl skirt, light pink sweater, pink gloves, white ankle socks and sugar bubble pink platform high heels in one video. She captioned it, “the most grateful girl in the bubble.”
Glinda famously visited Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” in a bright pink bubble.
She also posted a video of Jennifer Coolidge dressed as Glinda the Good Witch. The video again has no sound.
Coolidge has been Grande’s favorite actress and she starred in the “thank you, next” music video in 2019.
She reprized her role as Paulette Bonafonté Parcelle from the “Legally Blonde” film series for the music video.
In addition to Glinda-based content, Grande shared a new photo of her husband, Dalton Gomez.

Earlier this year, the “Dangerous Woman” singer was spotted in London wearing head-to-toe pink while leaving the set of “Wicked.”
This is the first time Ari has been seen on set for a film adaptation of a Broadway musical.
Ariana was accompanied by her husband. He looks like a supportive husband and wears a matching pink face mask with his wife.
In the picture obtained by Daily Mail, the singer showed off her petite frame in a pink turtle neck, white skirt and pink face mask. She carried her belongings in a fuzzy pink handbag.
According to reports, Grande and Gomez will be renting a London mansion while she films. Their temporary home reportedly totaled eight figures.
Ariana will play Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
Elphaba was originally brought to life by Broadway icon Idina Menzel.
If you’re not familiar with the play, Broadway.com reports, “’Wicked’ highlights the untold stories of Oz’s most famous (or infamous) characters, the Wicked Witch of the West and her unlikely companion, Glinda the Good Witch. The show follows green-skinned star Elphaba from birth to college and through life-changing events that eventually label her “evil,” introducing spoiled rich girl Glinda, prince and heartthrob Fiyero and even the Wizard of Oz himself, a very troubled man. not as you remember. As Elphaba fights injustice and seeks to undo past mistakes, dark secrets and personal tragedies shape Oz’s history, paying homage to the classic Wizard of Oz story while changing fans’ understanding of it forever. A cautionary tale of love, friendship and trust, ‘Wicked’ effortlessly reveals that there are indeed two sides to every story.”
Earlier this year, Explosion reported on the film’s director, John M. Chu, announced that the film would be split into two parts.

In a lengthy note posted to Instagram on Tuesday, April 26, Chu wrote, “SPECIAL WICKED UPDATE/ Thank you for all the support these past few months in anticipation of the WICKED movie. We have so many exciting things to share but for now I’ll give you one… or two, instead.”

Chu later explained that he and his team had a hard time whittling down the musical numbers, songs and script.
“As we prepared this production over the last year, it became increasingly clear that it was impossible to wrestle the story of WICKED into one film without doing some damage to it. When we try to cut a song or trim a character, the decision starts to feel like a fatal compromise to the source material that has entertained us. All over the years,” he continued. “So we decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one WICKED movie but TWO!!!! With more space, we can tell the story of WICKED as it was meant to be told while bringing more depth and surprise to the journey of these beloved characters.”
Chu promised fans that he, Grande, Erivo, and the cast and crew will create nothing less than “an experience that respects its foundation for all the fans who have been waiting for this film, and to offer a thrilling, fantastical world full of dynamic. characters that invite in their unknown selves.
“WICKED” part one will be released in December 2024 and part two of the adaptation will be released in December 2025.
Although Chu’s message was positive, it got a LOT of negative reactions.
“Would you consider making a two and a half hour film? Why are film studios and directors so resistant to just taking the stage show and not cutting anything? If it can fit on stage for one evening there is no reason. It can’t be the same on film. Makes no sense,” tweeted one disappointed fan.
“How does a ~2.5 hour stage musical (with a 15-20 minute intermission) not fit into a ~2.5 hour movie? I mean, that already gives you ~20 *more* minutes of movie time for the same material,” another disappointed fan questioned.
One critic tweeted, “This is a very bad decision. Where would you end the first movie? At ‘Defying Gravity’ and you’re leaving part 2 without the show’s biggest and most recognizable song? I knew when you were announced as director that only stupid decisions would be made.”
One funnyman joked, “So thankful we’re going to get more insight into the failed marriage of ‘townie #3’.”
