Trey Ganem is the owner Trey Ganem Custom Casket, which he founded in 2012. After attending a friend’s funeral, he launched Trey Ganem Designs in Texas. He was the first in the United States to offer custom graphic artwork on caskets. Trey has a background in auto fabrication, which he naturally uses for coffin production.
His previous clients include soul singer Percy Sledge, Tray Walker of the Baltimore Ravens, and former The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie who was shot in 2016 while signing autographs. In 2014, he donated five custom coffins to a family that lost five children in a house fire in Edna, Texas.

Meet Trey Ganem, The Designer Who Made Custom Caskets For Uvalde School Shooting Victims
Trey Ganem, a custom casket designer, was contacted by the Texas Funeral Directors Association to create a custom casket on the day of the shoot. He revealed to CNN Monday that he and his 25-year-old son worked for days to get all the caskets assembled, designed and delivered to the funeral home.
Trey went on to share that the casket was purchased through the Cherokee Casket Company of Griffin, Georgia who worked 20 straight hours to produce it. They also worked with trucking companies to acquire child-sized caskets and ship them to Texas. He said he completed all 19 coffins over the holiday weekend, working nearly three days straight — and sleeping for about six hours.
Trey told ABC News, “Our emotions when we finished the last crate, we all just looked at each other and we started crying and when you hug, it’s like, ‘we did it and everything turned out beautiful.’ We did 19 coffins in three and a half days. But it’s just a relief.”
Trey reportedly met with the victims’ families to customize the design and theme for each casket. His designs range from TikTok to Spider-Man. Marisol Gonzalez of SOLart Designs and Justin Watts of The Graphix House assisted with the graphics.
“We don’t just put vinyl wraps on them. We actually paint each one. We took the casket completely apart, and we painted the hardware, we painted the bars,” Trey told CNN. “The class and passion we put into it was unimpeded.”
Trey claims that his company pays for almost everything even though they receive a small donation. “I don’t think twice when I’m asked to do it,” he added, “and God always takes care of us.”
