“Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix has revealed why she still lives in the same house as Tom Sandoval despite not being together anymore.
The reality star shared that she is now prioritizing other things in her life and doesn’t think it’s worth spending money right now on a new apartment.
Although they share the same space, Madix said she does her best to avoid interacting with Sandoval while she spends her time in his room.

In response to criticism from Bethenny Frankel, Madix has shared the reasons behind her choice to stay in the $2 million Los Angeles home she once shared with ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval.
The couple ended their nine-year relationship about five months ago, a split prompted by Madix’s discovery of Sandoval’s affair with “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Raquel Leviss after going through her phone messages.
Responding to his stance, Madix said just because his relationship with Sandoval is over doesn’t mean he’s going to make a rash decision that could negatively impact him.
He added that he is also tight on cash and has other bills as his priority over finding a new place to live.
“A lot of people on the internet seem to think I’m looking for money now. I have a lot of places where the money has to go before I get there [it],” Madix said on Friday’s episode of the “Scheananigans with Scheana Shay” podcast.

For those curious about the current living situation between the two, Madix provides some insight into how it works. The reality star revealed that she tries to minimize any encounters with her ex-partner, spending most of her time in “pretty good preparation.”
“My room is like my little apartment… I live in my own little zone,” the reality star said. “Yes, we are in the same house, but I don’t have to think about it [him.]”
Madix also revealed that he was extra careful to keep his door “locked just in case” to prevent Sandoval from wandering in without his permission.
His strategy of keeping distance also extends to their work environment, as he made sure that they did not film together on the set of “Vanderpump Rules.”
“To make it very clear, he and I did not film together; I don’t forgive him; we are not cool; that hasn’t changed at all,” said Madix Daily Mail.

Since splitting from Sandoval, Madix has found love in the arms of 29-year-old personal trainer Daniel Wai.
The two first met each other at a mutual friend’s wedding in Mexico in March. They quickly form a connection, which turns into something deeper.
At the time, a source close to the reality star claimed that the two were “having a great time” and that Madix was happy about this new phase of her life.
“Ariana has told people in her circle that she’s in love with him,” the insider said People magazine. “It happened faster than she thought, but he treated her well, they had fun, and she’s happy to move on to the next chapter with an amazing man.”
Although the relationship is long distance, as Wai lives in New York while Madix lives in Los Angeles, the two don’t let it get in the way of their love.
“They have a special bond,” another source said. “Even though he lives in New York City, they can make it work.”

It’s no surprise that during a podcast with Shay, Madix enthusiastically praised Wai, sharing that she’s had an amazing time since they first met.
He told his host that “He’s always trying to help with things”, including menial tasks like calling his credit card company.
“He was like, ‘I’m going to call them. I know you want to do it all yourself, but I’m going to go ahead and do it,'” Madix told Shay.
Meanwhile, Shay, who is Madix’s BFF, also talks a lot about Wai. He shared that the personal trainer is always in a positive mood and he tries to extend the same mood to others.
“I can’t imagine this guy in a bad mood,” Shay explained. “Like, he’s just someone you feel like, ‘Are you always happy?’ Because he always has the best energy, he wants to make sure other people have the best time.”
