Aris Hampers, the famous radio personality, died recently at the age of 73. His friend John Sinkevic said that Hampers died after a long battle with cancer. Aris Hampers rose to fame through his various radio appearances and is widely praised for his work as an on-air presenter and music director. After his death, many fans and friends of the late actor rushed to social media to express their condolences.

Aris Hampers revealed in a Facebook post in December 2019 that he had been absent from social media for about six months. He added that he noticed a difference in his voice in February 2016 and decided to seek medical attention.
The post states:
“He checked my throat and found nothing. I’m ready to get older and it’s a normal transition for someone who has spent most of his life ‘talking’ for a career in radio, not to mention being a smoker since my senior year of high school.”
According to Hampers, the situation worsened over the next three years. He describes getting offers for voiceover work, requests for guest podcasts and returning to radio for a full-time evening broadcast shift. However, Aris Hampers said that he rejected all offers because he believed his voice would “end up getting worse.”
He revealed that there were times when he couldn’t talk to anyone, even in a loud environment, and when he went to the ENT, they found a lump behind his voice box. Hamper had a malignant tumor in his throat, which was discovered after several tests and surgeries.
He said, “
“Apparently, it’s a ‘non-invasive’ cancer, which means that not only will it not spread to other parts of my body, but it will also avoid the need for chemotherapy. On the downside, the tumor has significantly injured the voice box/larynx and can’t be saved. The only way I can live is to get it out.”
He went on to say that he had to stay in the hospital for 14 days and that the procedure cost the same as a medium-sized house in the West. Hamper also mentions his mother died of cancer at the end of the article. “Thank you Aris, for all the memories,” said the singer and fan of the late radio personality. Clark Boring, a singer, paid tribute to Hamper on Facebook, uploading a photo and saying that his passing was a great loss.
He stated:
“If you’re a musician in Michigan, you know who this guy is, and he’s most likely had a positive impact on your music live, whether it’s because he plays your songs on the radio, or your band gets to play his music. exhibit in the Orbit Room, or you’ve just had a conversation about music history with him.”
He went on to say:
“His voice is legendary, but his impact on the local music scene is even greater. Thank you, Aris, for all the experiences and possibilities you have provided for me and my colleagues.”
Bruce Madden, a Facebook user, said that he originally met Aris in Grand Rapids years ago and they reconnected at Believe In Music. Madden also revealed that he and Aris used to spend a lot of time talking about music. When news of Aris’ death spread, social media platforms were flooded with condolences. They sent a heartfelt letter mourning the passing of a “radio legend.”

Aris Hampers, son of Peter and Vivian Hampers, was born on May 4, 1949. He became interested in music from an early age since he spent a lot of time in front of the record player and jukebox. Hamper was also an accomplished pianist and organist, as well as a composer. In 1976, he graduated from Ottawa Hills High School while simultaneously writing music and singing vocals for The SoulBenders and Phlegethon.
He eventually became famous as a broadcaster and music director at several radio stations, and he organized rock scavengers to give local bands a chance. His brother Dean, nieces Viviana and Marisa, five nieces and nephews and cousins Maria, Jim, Helene and Andrew survive.
