“The Social Network” star Armie Hammer’s accuser, Effie Angelova, recently claimed that the actor was trying to silence her. The father of two and his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, ended their marriage in 2020, and less than a year later, an allegation of sexual abuse and assault against him surfaced.
Angelova, who Hammer previously dated, posted several screenshots of graphic violent text messages allegedly sent by Hammer. Now, after months of silence, the actor has recently broken his silence, claiming that as a result of the whole saga, he has harbored suicidal thoughts. In response to his interview released last week, Angelova, the woman who accused Hammer of rape, called the actor “manipulative.” follow Page Sixhe took to his Instagram story on Monday and claimed that the actor’s recent actions were in an effort to “evoke” public sympathy.
Angelova also said that Hammer’s alleged actions affected not only her but her entire family. He claimed that when he repeatedly hit his head against the wall, instead of caring about it, he was “just worried that I told my family.”
Angelova shared several screenshots of an alleged conversation with Hammer last year, in which she apologized for allowing her family to be involved. “I’m sorry you’re going through all this, and I’m sorry your parents have been involved so much,” her message read.
“And I’m sorry your parents were so hurt to see you hurt,” he continued. Another message allegedly sent from Hammer continued to apologize and revealed that he understood why Angelova and her parents were upset.

Regarding her failed suicide attempt in the Cayman Islands, Angelova claimed that she had heard the story from him before and the recent retelling was her desperate attempt to garner sympathy. She wrote, “It makes me so worried about him, he makes me feel bad for telling him the abuse has messed me up, and it makes me want to take care of him.”
Angelova continued, “He disappeared for a few days which only made me worry about him more.” He revealed that despite telling him the same story years ago, Hammer claimed to the press that it happened only recently after his accusations.
“It seems very manipulative because he knows his ocean story shut me up last time and evoked sympathy, and it’s like now he’s trying it again,” Angelova said. “I think on some level he feels guilty.”
She went on to share a screenshot of her message sent years earlier, allegedly telling Angelova that she had “cried” after her story and wanted to “give you a hug and make it better.”

Hammer joined Air Mail a few days earlier in his first interview since early 2021 when allegations of multiple misconduct and sexual abuse were made against him. She revealed that while swimming in the ocean in the Cayman Islands, she was attacked by suicidal thoughts but backed off when she remembered her children.
“I just went out into the ocean and swam as far as I could and hoped that I either drowned, or got hit by a boat, or got eaten by a shark,” the actor revealed. “Then I realized that my kids were still on the beach and I couldn’t do that to my kids.”
In the interview, he insisted that although he was emotionally abusive in past relationships, every sexual encounter between him and the woman who accused him was consensual. Hammer also recalled being sexually abused for almost a year by his youth pastor. At the time, she was only 13 years old, and according to the actress, that experience led to her interest in BDSM.

The actor said, “He planned all the details out, right down to the Starbucks where I would meet him, how I would follow him home, how his front door would be open and unlocked, and I would come in, and we would engage in what is called a ‘scene. without consensual consent,’ CNC.”
