It seems that Ashley Judd is still struggling to recover from the death of her mother, Naomi Judd, last year.
The 55-year-old actor has reportedly moved out of his home in Tennessee and has put his house up for rent after his therapist reportedly suggested that he “turn his life around.”

On Tuesday, Radar Online reported that the “Olympus Has Fallen” actor has put his home in Tennessee up for rent for $10,000 a month. The actress reportedly couldn’t fathom living in the same property in Franklin where Naomi reportedly shot herself in the head in April 2022. Ashley was reportedly the first person to meet her mother following the tragic suicide.
A source told Radar that Ashley “has been in intensive therapy since Naomi killed herself, and the one thing her therapist suggested to get her out of her anxiety was to turn her life around and start over.” The source also stated that Ashley’s stepfather, Larry Strickland, still remains at the property, although they stated that the two have a close relationship.
Ashley Has Been Traveling A Lot Over The Past Year
Earlier this month, the “Double Jeopardy” cast took to Instagram to share an entire Instagram carousel full of photos from the ancient city of Ephesus. The historic library is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as Ashley explains in her caption.
“Hadrian’s Fountain was beautiful to me (even though my scruffy ears were sticking out from under my hat). Next is the town square, where public policy is discussed & debated (w/ men only tho. Grrr.,” he wrote. “The little house: a profound spiritual experience, where Mary, the Mother of Jesus lived after the execution of her son.”

“Next, handmade from honest-to-goodness scratch rugs by Etrim, a generational family collective. Parents cook an old-fashioned breakfast, then you see the 2,800-year-old craft of washing wool, spinning silk, dying from plant pigments, and double-knotting on hand-made looms,” he added.
Carpet making attracts the attention of his Instagram followers. “Seeing these rugs knotted by hand, often in a memorized pattern, made me realize how much we should pay the artists who created them!” commented a fan. “The work that goes into carpeting, often starting with raising sheep that provide the wool is very difficult. Thank you for highlighting their artistry.”
Ashley Judd Pays Tribute To Naomi On Her Birthday, One Year After Death

In April 2023, Ashley took to Instagram to share a tribute to her late mother on her birthday, the first she will celebrate after her late mother’s tragic death. “My birthday. Everyone who loves me made it as soft (cake on the bed) and precious as they could, because my mind couldn’t help but think that on my last birthday, Mom was only 11 days away from her death by suicide ,” she wrote in the caption. “So this is my first time without her. I think about her all the time. I saw my baby announcement & sat with her gentle joy sharing about me.”
“I remember his annual ritual of telling me the day of my birth, all the details that were so precious to him,” she continued. “During my birthday at one point he would shine, pat my arm, ‘you were brown when you came out, surprised me, and the sweetest, easiest baby…. how much I love you, I have to beat the hands of people who want to touch you,’ and tell me about my baby story.”

He also recalled his last birthday with his mother in April 2022. “Pop and he came over with roast chicken and cornbread, and we shared a small meal, the three of us,” he explained. “Mama lays down a lot. We had cake and despite being weak and busy with the illness that was eating away at him, he had a beautiful card for me and I knew, as always, how much he loved me. I know that today too, even though he breathes in God’s infinite grace.”
“Thank you, Mom, for all my birthdays so far, and for celebrating me: for holding me at bedtime and whispering in my ear, ‘Ashley, you’re an amazing woman,’ and letting me be your Sweetpea. What more does a birthday girl need, than memories of a mother like that? And this is how he sees and loves me, first awake, hair never brushed, ready to share our dreams,” he concluded. “For you, Mom. For you.”
