Most of the original “That ’70s Show” cast is back for the reboot, “That ’90s Show,” and this includes Ashton Kutcher and now wife, Mila Kunis. One notable name is missing. Danny Masterson, who was dropped faster than a hot potato, when the rape allegations against him became public.
Now, Kutcher has addressed the rape allegations against his friend and former mentor, Masterson, for the first time. His POV might surprise you.
Ashton Kutcher Remembers Danny Masterson As A Leader
Ashton Kutcher talks about the tough stuff with Esquire Magazine. And in her latest interview, she admitted that she keeps in touch with most of her “That ’70s Show” co-stars, considering she’s married to one of them! In addition to being married to Mila Kunis and remaining close friends with Wilmer Valderrama, Kutcher has been linked to Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, and many are back for reboots.
Kutcher admitted he wouldn’t dare miss the reboot, “That ’90s Show” and Kunis wouldn’t let him either, as she told him, “[She] went, ‘You know, we owe our whole career to this show. No matter what the script is, we do it.’”
And so they are. But Danny Masterson did not return for the show. Today, no one wants to hang out with him since he was accused of rape but when “That ’70s Show” aired, Kutcher remembers Masterson as the leader of their youth group, in a good way.
Masterson is a relative veteran in the industry and knows all about reviews and ratings. He also knows how they sit on something special and warn everyone. Kutcher recalled, “He was like, ‘One f–king rule: Don’t do anything f–king stupid and f–k this. Because if you do it, you’re going to do it for everybody.'” Kutcher felt that he was the key. in making sure the whole line of young players is in line, away from drugs and away from bad decisions.
Danny Masterson Remains His Mentor

Kutcher left the show but Masterson remained his mentor and in 2017, when the rape allegations became public, the two starred in the Netflix sitcom, “The Ranch.” When the story broke, Masterson’s character was written off the script when he was fired. No one wants to hang out with a rapist, even if the allegations haven’t been proven yet.
Despite this, Kutcher remains in touch with Masterson and often talks to his brother.
And he feels for both sides of the story too.
On the one hand, Kutcher feels Masterson’s eight-year-old daughter, and how the Internet lives forever. Thought Kutcher, out loud, “One day, his son is going to read about this.”
Then again, Ashton Kutcher defended anyone who has been or is being abused, saying, “I feel for anyone who feels they’ve been violated in any way.”
Ashton Kutcher Wishes He Was Not Sinful

In June 2020, Masterson was charged with three counts of rape from three separate incidents alleged between 2001 and 2003. The trial began in the second half of 2022 but after the jury remained deadlocked on the case, the judge declared a misdemeanor. and in December the judge declared a mistrial when the jury was deadlocked after deliberations. He will now face a retrial with new experts and new witnesses as well.
What does Ashton Kutcher really think about Danny Masterson’s trial and alleged innocence?
Kutcher doesn’t know. And he said the same thing, “Finally, I can’t tell. I am not a judge. I do not [on] jury. I am not a DA. I am not a victim. And I am not the accused. So, in that case, I have no room to comment.”
That said, Kutcher hopes Masterson is innocent. he wants his friend and former mentor to be “found innocent of the charges against him.”
But he stated, this is not him who wants his friend to get away with something he did. He wants Masterson to be completely innocent. But then again, as Kutcher has said before about the guilt or innocence of others, he “doesn’t know.”
