Ayyappa P Sharma is an Indian actor, director and screenwriter, who mostly works in the Kannada and Telugu film industries.

Ayyappa P. Sharma’s father, Pudipeddi Jogeswara Sarma (commonly known as PJ Sarma), is an Indian film artist, actor and dubbing writer, who mostly works in the Telugu film industry. PJ Sarma also worked in Tamil and Kannada film industry. At the age of 81, PJ Sarma died of a heart attack on 14 December 2014. His mother, Krishna Jyothi Pudipeddi, worked as an actress in the Telugu and Kannada film industries. He is best known for appearing in the Kannada films Sri Krishna Garudi (1958) and Makkala Rajya (1960), sharing the screen with noted Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar.
Born and raised in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, Ayyappa’s father, PJ Sarma, moved to Madras (now Chennai) in 1955 to build a career in the entertainment industry. Krishna Jyothi hails from Bagepalli, Karnataka. In an interview, Ayyappa’s brother Ravi Shankar spoke about his parents and said,
My father was a struggling actor but my mother was at the peak of her career when they fell in love and married in 1960. She left her career when she was in the family.”
Ayyappa had two brothers, Pudipeddi Sai Kumar (commonly known as P. Sai Kumar) and Pudipeddi Ravi Shankar (commonly known as P. Ravi Shankar). Both of them work as artists, actors, directors and dubbing writers in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil film industries. Ayyappa has two younger sisters, Kamala Narayan and Priya Karthikeyan.
Career
Script Writing and Direction
In 1996, he entered the entertainment industry as a film writer and director with the Kannada film ‘Aayudha.’
In 1997, he started working as a director at Jyothi Movie Makers in Hyderabad; he worked there for 10 months. In 1998, he produced and directed the Nandi Award-winning Telugu film ‘Eswar Allah.’ Ayyappa worked as a director for the Kannada films Durgada Huli (2000), Veera (2013), and Varadhanayaka (2013).
From 2006 to 2007, he held the position of Executive Vice President at the Film Artistes Association, Hyderabad. From May 2008 to November 2009, he worked as a director at Sonopix Productions Private Ltd, where he directed many TV series. For a long time, he was also associated as a director with Eagle Entertainers in Chennai.

In 2003, she made her acting debut with the Kannada romantic action drama film ‘Partha’ in which she played the role of Kitty.
Other Kannada films in which he appeared include Gharshane (2014), Master Piece (2015), and Tiger Galli (2017). In 2005, he made his debut in the Telugu film industry with the action film ‘Slokam.’
Other Telugu films in which she appeared include Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi (2016) and Aravindha Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). He gained attention with the sequels of the popular pan-Indian films KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) and KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) in which he played the role of Vanaram. The film follows a young man named Rocky, who seeks power and wealth to fulfill a promise to his dying mother. As the story unfolds, Rocky is tasked with killing the heir to the Kolar Gold Fields, Garuda. In the film, Vanaram is the commander and bodyguard of Garuda.
In the 2019 Kannada action drama film ‘Bharaate’ he played one of the antagonists Veerappa Nayaka.
He appeared as Prachanda, a Tantrik, in the 2021 Indian Telugu-language action drama film ‘Akhanda.’
In 2021, he was cast in the Kannada supernatural comedy-drama film ‘Avatara Purusha’ as Bramha Jois, a daivagurugalu who is pitted against Darka in the film.
