Bad Bunny Apologizes To Harry Styles For Unintentional Shade During Coachella Performance

Bad Bunny has apologized to Harry Styles for his allegedly unintentional shade during his Coachella set. Strong. Co, the company that designed the band, was also responsible for the controversial tweet.

However, the timing is strange as Bad Bunny is currently involved with Kendall Jenner, who previously dated Styles. This isn’t the rapper’s first beef with one of his exes, as he previously shadowed Devin Booker.

The Latin rapper and Styles also recently competed at the 2023 Grammy Awards for Best Album, where Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” lost to Styles’ “Harry’s House.”

Bad Bunny Says That Shade Wasn’t Intentional

During Bad Bunny’s performance during the second weekend of Coachella, the rapper took a dig at Harry Styles. In his first performance and first headlining set for the Music and Arts Festival, Bad Bunny displayed a tweet shade style.

The tweet read, “good night benito can do anything, but harry can’t do it anymore.” The message references two of the artist’s biggest hits and implies that Bad Bunny is a better player than Styles.

However, in its second weekend, Bad Bunny featured a new tweet, which read, “Sorry, Harry. It was a mistake by my team. We love you. <3.” A representative for the rapper told Rolling stone that Bunny never approved of them displaying shady tweets on giant screens during his performance.

Visual Content Companies Take Responsibility

A few days before he made an apology display, Sturdy. Co, the visual content company that designed the Coachella set for Bad Bunny’s performance, released a statement on Instagram. They took responsibility for the tweet in their post and said it was a mistake.

The message was read, per Daily Mail, “We set out to create a lightweight design that embodies Bad Bunny’s personality and amplifies the experience he presents as an entertainer. The request from the artist during the visual for the performance of El Apagón is to use only the image and not the text from the tweet, for which we are responsible and will correct the performance on Friday.”

The mistake with the tweet about Styles wasn’t the only mistake made during the Bad Bunny show. When he brought Post Malone on stage for a joint performance, he had technical difficulties and the crowd couldn’t hear him. To fulfill the wishes of their fans, the two rappers later posted a video of their song on Instagram.

However, fans on social media had a hard time believing the display was really a mistake. Timing is an issue, as Bad Bunny recently started dating Kendall Jenner, who is romantically linked to Styles. They were together from 2013 to 2016 and have remained friendly ever since.

Evil Bunny made things worse with Styles when he failed to include the “Watermelon Sugar” singer in the video montage. The Latino rapper kicked off his first show with a montage of previous Coachella headliners and excluded Styles, who headlined the festival last year. He only included The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar.

The alleged beef with Styles can be traced to the 2023 Grammy Awards, where both of their latest albums were nominated for Album of the Year. Styles ended up winning the coveted “Harry’s House” prize, beating out Bad Bunny, Adele, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and others.

The controversy with Styles isn’t the first time Bad Bunny has run into trouble with one of Jenner’s exes. The “Me Porto bonito” rapper previously took aim at NBA star Devin Booker in the song, “Coco Chanel.”

The song’s first verse lyrics, when translated into English, state, “I’m not bad, baby it’s a gimmick / But the sun in Puerto Rico is hotter than in Phoenix / He knows.” In a now-deleted Instagram post, Booker responded to the shade by commenting, “She’s worried about another GUY.”

In another part of the song, Bad Bunny references Jenner with lyrics that translate into “Scorpio women are dangerous.” Jenner was born in November 1995 and is a Scorpio. Jenner and Booker dated for about two years and ended their relationship in November 2022. At the time, they said it was due to their busy work schedules.
