Bad Bunny Shares REAL Reason Why He Hurled Fan’s Phone Into Water

Latin artist and global star Bad Bunny doesn’t care too much about fans waving their phones in his face.

A clip of the rapper went viral earlier this week, which showed him throwing a fan’s phone into the water. Following that, Bad Bunny issued a statement addressing the issue.

This was one of several positive encounters with fans over the past few weeks. Although the “La Noche De Anoche” singer enjoys spending time with them, she says she only asks for “respect” whenever they come for autographs or selfies.

Bad Bunny has also spent the past few weeks giving back to fans through his Good Bunny Foundation. The star gave away over 25,000 gifts at the Bonita Tradición drive in Puerto Rico. He also recently shot a music video for his new song “La Jumpa,” after which he surprised fans with an impromptu concert.

The viral video shows the Grammy Award winner walking down the street as a fan approaches him. The fan then shoves her phone in Bad Bunny’s face as he tries to film them together. After a small smile, the rapper took the phone and threw it away. The video then shows the phone landing in nearby waters.

The viral video has shocked some fans on social media, with some agreeing with his actions and others condemning him. Referring to a clip showing singer Dua Lipa in a similar situation, one disgruntled Twitter fan write“This is how you deny [sic] picture, instead of throwing your fan’s phone into the river. Remember without them, you would never be where you are.”

On Monday, the “La Santa” singer took to Twitter to explain her side of the story in a statement she wrote in Spanish. He revealed that he loves spending time with his fans and assured them that he respects them. However, he would not see them disrespecting him and do nothing about it.

He write, “People who come to me to say hello, to tell me something, or just to meet me, will always receive my attention and respect.” Referring to the water incident, he continued, “Those who come and put the phone in my face, I will take it for what it is, disrespectful, and I will treat them the same.”

This incident comes after some great experiences with fans towards the end of 2022. Bad Bunny recently gave away some gifts at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente Walker arena through his Good Bunny Foundation event.

The 28-year-old multi-platinum star formed a charitable foundation in Puerto Rico to support children by giving them materials and opportunities to help them pursue their dreams. It also gives them free resources to expose them to music, sports and artistic skills.

With almost 40000 followers on Instagram, the foundation organized an event on December 27 to give fans some supplies and equipment. Bad Bunny also provided food and drinks to everyone at the event and treated fans to a meet and greet and live performance.

As the star filmed part of the video, many fans filled the Calle Loíza area to watch it. Bad Bunny, in a spectacular turn, then surprised them by performing some of his fan favorites such as “Efecto,” “El Apagón,” “Gato de Noche” and “Me Porto Bonito.”
