Balthazar Owner Keith McNally Now Calls Out James Corden For ‘Denying Being Abusive’

Balthazar’s owner Keith McNally criticized James Corden for denying that he abused a server on several occasions when he visited the restaurant.

Corden previously stated in an interview that he did “nothing wrong” after he made headlines for abusing a server at Balthazar.

In response to the comedian’s statement, McNally accused Corden of lying and urged him to publicly admit his mistake. He said that his crew had no reason to lie about the event, raising the possibility that “The Late Late Show” host was simply in denial.

McNally took to Instagram to respond to Corden’s comments that he had done “nothing wrong” after being attacked for abusing a server at New York-based restaurant Balthazar.

McNally, who owns the restaurant, previously wrote a scathing Instagram post in which she described an incident when the comedian was rude to staff. He later banned the TV personality from his restaurant before later reversing the decision, claiming Corden had apologized.

In a shocking turn of events, Corden defended himself in an interview with New York Timessaying he did “nothing wrong.”

Responding to Corden’s claims, McNally wrote, “I don’t want to kick a guy when he’s down. especially someone worth $100 Million, but when James Corden said in the NY Times yesterday that he did ‘nothing wrong, on any level,’ was he kidding?”

He added, “Or does he deny abusing my server? Whatever Corden meant, the implication is clear: he didn’t.”

Keith McNally Wants James Corden to ‘Admit He Was Wrong’

McNally later admitted that while he wasn’t at the restaurant when the actor performed his questionable act, he knew that Corden had actually done what he was accused of because his staff had no incentive to lie about the incident.

He said, “I hope James Corden will stick to his initials of Almighty and clean. If the very talented actor wants to regain the respect he had from all his fans (all 4 of them) before this incident, then he should at least admit he was wrong.”

McNally also noted that the comedian has yet to apologize to the two waitresses he abused during his visit to the restaurant. He later said he would let Corden “eat free at Balthazar for the next 10 years” if he made the apology.

In the comments section, Corden was once again criticized for his statement, similar to the criticism he received when McNally made his initial post.

One individual said, “What’s worse, he used the phrase ‘that’s ridiculous’ several times in reference to the incident. Treating others with kindness and respect is not stupid. Civilized. What’s ridiculous is that anyone anywhere thinks yelling at restaurant staff is acceptable.

Another wrote, “The way you treat restaurant staff (or anyone in the service industry, for that matter) is a window into your soul. Given the many stories that have come out since your post, his behavior at Balthazar is not the first — and unfortunately, not The last.”

Another said, “Like I said, the ‘apology’ you received isn’t very old, is it? At this point in my life, my gut and not my conscience is in charge. When my heart tells me someone is stupid, I listen. You give him a chance, and BOOM- schmuckery.”

Amid the uproar over Corden’s mistreatment of staff, several NYC restaurant owners have come to the comedian’s defense, citing different instances when the actor connected well with the team and acted to entertain them.

follow Page Six, Stratis Morfogen, a restaurant owner, said that the “Late Late Show” presenter is one of his friendliest and funniest customers. Morfogen said that Corden was so impressive that it was impossible for him to think the comedian was unkind to employees.

Morfogen then recalled a time when his restaurant, Brooklyn Chop House, hosted a 2018 post-Grammy celebration where Corden performed a song with the bartender and talked to the staff behind the bar before leaving a sizable tip.

Another restaurateur, Todd English, expressed a similar opinion. She said Corden was “absolutely beautiful” and “very attractive” to her and her staff when they served at the Tony Awards after-party.
