Legendary singer Barry Manilow has revealed that he is now a proud grandfather.

The 80-year-old shared the news in a new interview, saying she’s thoroughly enjoying the new experience despite never wanting to have children of her own.

In the interview, he also explained how his status as a grandfather came about, revealing that his partner’s daughter adopted a child.

The stunning admission comes after Manilow reached a new milestone in his long and award-winning career, breaking Elvis Presley’s record for the highest number of concerts at the famous Westgate Resort & Casino in Los Angeles.

Legendary music artist Barry Manilow, who is married to Garry Kief, shared the exciting news that he is now a grandfather.

The singer explained that although he has no children of his own and never wanted to be involved with that, his partner’s daughter, Kirsten, adopted a little girl, causing him to experience what it means to be a grandfather.

“Garry’s daughter Kirsten adopted, so I’m now a grandfather,” he said. People magazine in an interview. “I never, ever thought about having a baby or having anything to do with it [being] father or any of that.”

Enjoying the new experience, Manilow shared how much she enjoys watching the almost three-year-old grow up every day.

“I’m watching this little girl—she’s 2½ years old—grow and learn. This is a new experience for me, and I’m really enjoying it,” added the Grammy Award-winning songwriter.

Barry Manilow Breaks Elvis Presley’s Record Last Month

Expanding his family isn’t the only thing Manilow is thankful for right now. The “One More Night” hitmaker had a torrid year, which saw him surpass the late King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley’s record for the most shows performed at the Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Presley held a record 636 shows at the venue over three decades before Manilow hosted his 637th.

To commemorate the occasion, Manilow shared a clip from the show, which featured him on stage with representatives from Westgate and the Clark County Commission.

“Welcome to our record-breaking weekend,” Manilow appeared to beam to the audience. “Tonight, we break his record with our 637th performance here.”

The “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” singer also used the moment to thank her fans for their support over the years and for coming to her record-breaking concert.

“This is really about you guys,” he added. “You know I love all the awards and all, but I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for coming tonight and all year.”

Barry Manilow Explains Why He’s Still Going To Retire

Despite reaching the age of 80, Manilow still has no intention of continuing his career, as evidenced by the series of Las Vegas residency events he organized this year. This is in addition to her feature in the upcoming Broadway production of “Harmony.”

Back in April, Manilow explained why he chooses to stay in the spotlight, saying he doesn’t like being idle.

“Well, I don’t like sitting around watching television,” Manilow told me Many people in an interview. “I mean, I’m just one of those lucky guys who always has something. I’ve got two albums I’m working on, then Radio City, and it just goes on and on and on.”

The “Bridge Over Troubled Water” singer also shared that she stays active because of the health benefits that come with it.

He continued, “I think by continuing to work, you stay young, or at least you stay energized and your brain is always working. And that’s me — I always have something going on.”
