The former “Real Housewife” and “Dancing With the Stars” pro has been quite vocal in her support of countries that have been attacked and has taken some philanthropic steps to extend aid to those in their time of need.

Recently, they reunited to remind Americans about the sad state of their birth state through social media. Taking to Instagram, the 52-year-old posted a picture of himself and the choreographer standing in a field of sunflowers. The caption reads:

“Celebrating Ukrainian Unity Day with @maksimc at NYC’s Flatiron Plaza where 335 sunflowers were planted, each representing each day Russia has occupied Ukraine. Sunflowers symbolize peace, happiness, and hope….”

The TV personality continued to appeal to his followers to join in by posting memes or pictures of symbolic flowers to show solidarity with the country “one year into their struggle.” While some responded with support for the message, others expressed suspicion that billions of American tax dollars would go to a war-torn country, but there was no accurate reporting of its use.

As this user stated, “I’ll post sunflowers all day, but I’d rather not send over millions a month without accountability or transparency on how our money is spent. It’s crazy. ??.” Another wrote, “Lots of American tax money for Ukraine…but cut people’s pensions…Come on, Bethenny.”

The entrepreneur however ignored the naysayers as he updated his fans on his Instagram story that he will be meeting the 43-year-old pro dancer in New York City. He educated them about the meaning behind the flower and asked them to post a meme by “@unifyukrainecampaign.org” to show awareness of the raging war. He stated emphatically, saying:

“Not interested in politics with you, the war is still going on, and human life is human life, and that’s what I feel, and I said what I said. Have a nice day.”

In the following clip, she states that Maks flew to meet her to talk about the grief she was experiencing, thinking about “her beloved family and country that is suffering to this day.”

The final video showed the reality TV star on the spot squatting next to a sunflower while writing, “Join me in posting a sunflower photo or meme today to show support for Ukrainian Unity Day. #UnifyUkraine #StandwithUkraine #sponsored.”

While she may be known as a professional dancer, lately, the star has put it aside to fight for a bigger cause – her country. The explosion shared that since Russia has invaded parts of Europe, the Ukrainian army is holding firm by keeping the enemy out of major cities and slowing their advance. In March last year, Maks posted photos and videos of the destruction in Kharkiv.

“WAR. Kharkiv has been ravaged by gunfire for the past few days. Residential areas were hit the hardest and there were reports of many civilian casualties.”

Later, The Blast reported that the father of one returned to Poland to support fleeing refugees after a brief stopover in Los Angeles to see his family. The Ukrainian-born dancer posted a video on Instagram from Poland, where she updated fans about her trip, among other things.

He explained that he worked with his brother and father to create practical opportunities to help the cause by starting a charity organization called “Baranova 27” and a GoFundMe page. He revealed that in addition to collecting funds, he will also be involved in basic work by helping to distribute aid.
