Beyoncé Slams Designer Nusi Quero Who Claims He Wasn’t Paid For Services Rendered

Beyoncé is one artist who doesn’t take false rumors lightly. Her publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, recently responded to designer Nusi Quero’s claims on Instagram that Beyoncé’s stylist, Marni Senofonte, had failed to pay her for work. Noel-Schure disputed the claim and said there was evidence that the stylist had made all payments due.

Quero took to Instagram earlier this week to blast Senofonte and Beyoncé for failing to settle payments for his work with his partners. He claims the payment has been pending for three months and that Senofonte has stopped responding to messages and emails on the subject.

Beyoncé’s rep confirmed that all the allegations were false and said the team had sent Quero a check for her final payment. Singer Kelis has previously attacked Beyoncé for using a sample of her song without checking for permission. In response, Beyoncé removed samples from the song and the album and removed Kelis from the credits.

In a statement to NYP, Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, addressed Quero’s claims that Senofonte refused to pay her back for work. In fact, she was paid for her work, and there is evidence of all payments made.”

Quero had accused Senofonte on Instagram earlier this week, saying the stylist had prevented him from paying for his project on Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” album. Projects Quero is working on include “an album cover piece”, styling for a video, and “a red custom 3D printed top that I magically got the last miniature. [sic] for video recording.”

He sent an open letter that read per NYP, “As a stylist for B, I expect the best from you and your team. But because you won’t respond to texts and emails. I feel this is the last resort I can resort to before legal means to settle the outstanding balance you have owed me and my business partner for about three months.”

In the letter, Quero admitted that someone named Marni had paid a 50% deposit for one of the three jobs and that the deposit took over a month to reach his team. He also acknowledged the bank’s problems with subsequent payments but claimed that his team immediately fixed them.

Noel-Schure also spoke more about the bank issue that delayed Quero’s final payment. He said, “the second payment, an advance payment of fifty percent of the agreed cost, was made by wire on July 8, 2022. The third and final payment was refunded when he changed his account number. It was returned as an invalid account number based on an error on his part.”

He later explained that Beyoncé’s team had “constant and exhausting communication” with Quero’s team to get the correct account information for payment. According to Noel-Schure, there were two unsuccessful wire transfer attempts, and after that, the team sent a physical check to Quero on September 29, 2022.

Quero isn’t the only person whose contribution to the Renaissance album has called out Beyoncé. Singer Kelis is calling out the “Halo” singer for allegedly trying her song “Milkshake” on her new song “Energy” without her permission. Kelis was credited for the sample in the credits for “Energy,” but the singer felt more should have been done.

In response, Beyoncé did not make any statement or address Kelis’ allegations. Instead, he quietly released offensive samples from the song and the album. The sampled beat is no longer available on the song on any streaming service, and Kelis’ name has been removed from the credits.

The “Halo” singer was also recently slammed by UK pop duo Right Said Fred for sampling their songs without taking permission from them directly. Both called Beyoncé “arrogant” and were quickly addressed by her for their “wrong” accusations.
