Beyoncé’s dad, Mathew Knowles, is getting his own movie adaptation and series!
As the singer continues to celebrate the success of “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” her father has also embraced his Hollywood era. On Tuesday, he revealed a deal with Say Unkel Entertainment to adapt his memoir, “Racism From the Eyes of a Child,” into both a film and a limited series.

According to a new report, the feature film adaptation of Knowles’ 2017 memoir will focus on the first half, delving into his early years in Alabama during the sixties, navigating race riots as one of six black students at an all-white school.
In the book, the 71-year-old man touched on those experiences, including being arrested four times in one day while engaging in peaceful protests. Additionally, Knowles’ memoir explores the profound influence of civil rights leaders — Albert Turner, Martin Luther King Jr., and Ralph Abernathy, who were instrumental in the fight for equal rights during his formative years.
Speaking about the experience, the university lecturer expressed gratitude, stating, “These are the men who made me proud and the women who taught me to fight.” The outlet notes that Knowles’ impressive career includes collaborations with Grammy-winning artists such as Destiny’s Child, Solange, Chaka Khan and Earth, Wind & Fire.

His educational achievements include two bachelor’s degrees, an MBA, a PhD, and a Professional Development Certificate from Harvard University. Notably, two of the record producer’s five books have earned Amazon best-seller status.
Knowles also currently holds faculty positions at Pepperdine University and the London College of Contemporary Music. As for Uncle, Diversity revealed that the former vice president of programming at 20th Century Fox has confirmed the completion of a feature script based on Knowles’ book, ready for market presentation.
To oversee the development of the project, Unkel worked with partner Howard Kazanjian, a producer best known for his contributions to the original “Star Wars” trilogy. It should be noted that Knowles’ early struggles, as highlighted in her memoir, have been referenced and documented in various works by Beyoncé.
In addition to being featured in her documentary film, the most recent theatrical release “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” tributes to this struggle also appeared in the music video for her 2016 hit, “Formation.”
Matthew Knowles Celebrates His Daughters’ Success Stories
More than a year before the big announcement, Knowles had been taking a shine to Beyoncé and her younger sister Solange, both of whom he shares with ex-wife Tina Knowles.
As The Blast noted, he started with a throwback photo of a younger Beyoncé playfully placing a furry object on top of her head. The now 42-year-old artist is seen wearing a yellow top and blue jeans in a cute picture shared on Instagram.
Recalling the moment captured in the vintage photo, Knowles recalled not fully understanding what her baby girl was doing, writing in the caption:
“I remember not knowing what Beyonce was doing at the moment, but I could see the big smile on her face and could feel that she was having fun. So I smiled and followed him because it made him happy.”

He then touched on the challenge of balancing the roles of parents and managers and emphasized the importance of allowing children to have fun, trusting that “their spirit” will “guide” them to excel in various aspects of life.
Acknowledging Beyoncé’s passion for performing, Knowles expressed confidence in her success and concluded by offering advice to parents of gifted children and individuals who aspire to be successful.
For him, it is important to nurture a child’s spirit while allowing joy to play a role in reaching one’s best potential. “Be passionate about what you do, love what you do, and have fun doing it,” the proud papa states.
Following a motivational post about the “Single Woman” hitmaker, a fan asked for a similar reflection on Solange’s career, and Knowles graciously agreed.
Sharing insight into the “Cranes in the Sky” singer’s journey, he revealed that despite his desire for him to join Destiny’s Child, the now 37-year-old chose his own musical path and never aspired to be a part of the group.
Going further, the father of four revealed Solange’s desire to “trust her own instincts” and pursue music from her unique perspective. She ultimately succeeded thanks to her self-confidence and belief in herself overriding her father’s personal wishes for her to join Destiny’s Child.
To close the lengthy caption, Knowled expressed his immense pride in the mother of one.
