Biden leads Trump by 6 points in election rematch — assuming ex-president is convicted: poll

President Biden leads Donald Trump by six points in a potential 2024 election race if the former president is ultimately convicted of any of the four criminal charges against him, a new poll shows.

Biden, 80, would win by a 45% to 39% margin over Trump, 77, in the event of a post-conviction vote, according to a WPA Intelligence survey shared exclusively with The Post.

If the former president is not convicted of any charges, Biden will still lead Trump in the general election — with 43% of voters to Trump’s 41% and 11% of voters undecided.

WPA Intelligence CEO Chris Wilson is also the head of polling and data for the Never Back Down PAC, which supports Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ bid for the Republican nomination.

Neither the super PAC nor any of its affiliates sponsored the poll, the WPA said.

The poll also showed Biden increasing his margin among independent voters to 44% if Trump is convicted, with the former president falling to 30%.

Meanwhile, Republican support for the former president would drop five percentage points, from 86% to 81%, with at least 6% saying they would not vote in the 2024 election if he were convicted and nominated.

Trump faces federal indictment for allegedly keeping classified documents after leaving office; municipal indictment for allegedly paying “hush money” to porn stars before the 2016 election; and both federal and state indictments over his attempts to overturn the 2020 elections in Washington, DC, and Georgia.

A majority of voters (63%) also said he should be impeached in the Peach State for meddling in the election, including 76% of voters who were undecided about supporting Trump or Biden, the WPA poll found.

“A clear majority of voters, including 29% of Republicans and more than three in four undecided voters, believe that Georgia prosecutors are justified in bringing charges against Trump,” WPA Principal Amanda Iovino said in a statement.

“If a jury convicts him on any of the four pending cases, it could send shockwaves through the Republican Party and the Trump campaign, with a large number of GOP voters indicating they may not participate in the 2024 election at all. Not only will this give Biden four more years, it could cost House Republicans and hurt gains in the Senate.”

“This is another stupid and fake poll by some company from Always Back Down, the Super PAC for Ron DeSantis,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told The Post. “They keep posting fake numbers to give more money to their customers. Congratulations, Ron. Everyone is taking advantage of you.”
