As a first-time grandfather, billionaire investor Bill Gates takes his responsibilities quite seriously, melting the hearts of his ever-supportive followers.
Bill became a grandfather for the first time in March, following his eldest daughter Jennifer Gates welcoming a daughter with her husband, Nayel Nassar.
Since welcoming the little one, the famous philanthropist has made sure to be a constant figure in his life, even making plans to read him his first book, as recently witnessed on social media.
Bill Gates Chooses Classic ‘I Am A Bunny’ As First Reading Book For Daughter
Bill tells the world that he is the best grandfather because he hopes to influence his grandchildren with his amazing taste in books. On Instagram, the Microsoft co-founder shared that he was deciding on the first book to read to his beloved grandson.
He was filmed standing behind a desk covered with a pile of colorful children’s books. Only the business magnate’s upper body was visible, dressed in a blue-gray sweatshirt with a striped shirt underneath.
She held several books from the collection on the table and read them page by page, including one called “Pandemics for Babies” and another called “Climate Change for Babies.” The reel then featured sequential displays of more books with their titles, including “Quantum Information for Babies,” “Robotics for Babies,” “Nuclear Physics for Babies” and “Quantum Computing for Babies.”
Obviously, Bill wanted his grandson to have an interest in the things he loved. However, he eventually settled with the classic, “I’m Bunny.” After making the difficult decision to choose a classic children’s book, the 67-year-old sat back, smiling at the camera with his arms folded across his chest.
The clip, captioned, “With so many books to choose from, I had to go with the classics,” went unnoticed by many Instagram users as it has racked up over 620k views in no time. More than 25k responded with likes, and even though the comments section is limited, we can assume that Bill’s followers loved grandpa’s proud moment.
The update comes nearly two months after he and his ex-wife Melinda Gates celebrated the birth of their first grandchild with a separate but equally adorable post. In honor of the Cascade Investments chairman, he was seen wearing a navy blue sweatshirt and pants, carrying the toddler, who looked cute in a pink onesie.

She was also caught playing with her fingers and looked very happy smiling at him. Taking the caption, she stated, “I can’t wait to see you discover the world.”
Instead, Melinda used a longer caption, attached to an image of herself in an orange blouse and black slacks, cradling the baby to her chest and beaming at the camera. The 58-year-old is definitely on cloud nine, holding her first grandchild, and she admits as much, noting that time has flown by since she first carried her firstborn, Jennifer.
“Seems like yesterday I was holding Jenn at this age,” he wrote. “Now she has a baby of her own – and I’m so proud to see her and Nayel step into their new roles as parents.”
Many commenters sent good wishes to the grandparents with beautiful words, including Hollywood stars Dax Shepard and Ava DuVernay and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.
TerraPower Co-Founder And Ex-Wife Support Daughter On Her Master’s Graduation
It’s been two years since Bill and Melinda split after decades of marriage. Nevertheless, they make parenting work together given their good relationship.
Last month, The Blast reported that the parents appeared in good spirits for their daughter Jennifer who graduated from Columbia University based on the 27-year-old’s Instagram photos. The graduate posed between her parents, wearing a blue graduation gown and cap while grinning like a parting couple. Standing by Bill’s side, her husband Nassar was also included in the family photo.
