Bindi Irwin Remembers Late Dad In Another World Elephant Day Message

Bindi Irwin posted a sweet video featuring her late father, Steve Irwin, to mark World Elephant Day. August 12 is a day set aside to celebrate all elephants, and without fail, zookeepers are at the forefront of this iconic celebration.

To celebrate the event, the 25-year-old, whose career has been greatly inspired by his late father, shared a short Docu-series explaining one of the “iconic species” at the Austrian Zoo— and showing the views of wildlife conservationists and popular TV presenters, who died on September 4, 2006.

In a video used by conservationists to mark World Elephant Day this year, he and his brother Robert Irwin talk warmly about the “Sumatra elephants” at their zoo. Robert mentions that the animals are living a great life in their zoo, “doing things that elephants like to do like knocking down trees, roaming around in the open, wading and enjoying their favorite foods.”

They point out that “elephants eat 150 kilos (330 lbs)” worth of food every day. Bindi then elaborated, saying, “The Sumatran elephant is a critically endangered species with an estimated number of just over 2000 individuals remaining in their natural habitat.”

“Our incredible team works tirelessly to give them the best life possible and help us to continue to spread awareness for this iconic species,” he added. Before the clip ends, it takes a trip down memory lane, showing the late “Crocodile Hunter” and little Bindi when the giant animal first arrived at the zoo.

“The biggest and best arrival of any animal we’ve ever had at Australia Zoo,” he said as Bindi said, “I love my elephants.” In the accompanying caption, “in Crikey! Its the Irwins” star wrote:

“Have a great #WorldElephantDay. These iconic animals need our respect and protection. Please remember to say ‘NO’ to wildlife products ?.”

Under the post, fans started praising her messages and moments with her father. One wrote, “Great cause and love the bonus clip of you and your dad at the end. Keep up the good work.”

The second commented, “?? you and your dad! The best.” And a third fan replied, “Love seeing Steve at the end – – – MISSING HIM ❤️.” “I know the Irwins are an Australian national treasure first and foremost, but I can’t think of a family more loved around the world than the Irwins,” wrote a fourth fan.

The “Dancing With the Stars” contestant also paid tribute to her father at last year’s celebration. She recently uploaded a photo of herself sitting cross-legged on bare ground with a herd of elephants – both adults and babies – in front of her as she stared at the cloudy sky.

As The Blast points out, the image was captured when Steve traveled to Africa to film “The Crocodile Hunter” in the early 2000s. The message touching the heart of the loving princess reads:

“To be in the presence of this giant angel is to know you have experienced magic. This #WorldElephantDay and every day we must think about our impact on the planet and how it affects our fellow species. Their future depends on us.”

Bindi Honors Her Parents’ Eternal Love With Sincere Respect

Besides August, June was another month that meant the world to the “My Babysitter’s A Vampire” star because it was the month her parents, Steve and Terri, walked down the aisle. For their 31st wedding anniversary this year, Bindi took a snapshot of the couple posing on the beach.

Her father, beaming, stood with one arm around his wife and the other on the open passenger door of his famous white Land Cruiser. She crossed her legs as the wind blew through Terri’s hair. The TV personality wrapped up the broadcast with simple but meaningful words. He wrote:
