Bodies of Israeli dad, wheelchair-bound 16-year-old daughter found 12 days after Hamas’ music fest massacre

The bodies of an Israeli father and his disabled 16-year-old daughter have finally been found 12 days after they were slaughtered by Hamas terrorists who attacked a music festival, Israel has confirmed.

Erick Peretz and his daughter Ruth – who is in a wheelchair with cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy – were found by volunteers on Wednesday at the site of the Sukkot Supernova Assembly near Re’im Kibbutz, where at least 260 Israelis were massacred, according to local officials and reports.

They were “brutally killed by Hamas terrorists,” Israel wrote on his official X account.

“[My father] very happy, and everything is fine,” his eldest son Yaarit Peretz, 26, told Israel’s Ynet channel on Monday.

“For years he went to these parties and took Ruth, because it made him so good and he loved it. There were times when he would take it and he didn’t want to go back,” he said.

Peretz would take his daughter Ruth to the music festival every year, her sister said. Erick Peretz last spoke to his eldest son Yaarit after the attack began on Oct. 7.

Yaarit Peretz said he last spoke to his father by phone on the morning of October 7 — now known in Israel as “Black Saturday” — after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack.

“He said that they had almost no response, and he didn’t know where to go,” he said. “He said that almost everyone ran away, and I told him that there were terrorists in the streets.”

He is very worried about the survival of his sister Ruth, who has to be fed through her stomach and other medical care. He is also mostly non-verbal, only able to say a few words, she said.

“I find it hard to believe that he will survive in Gaza,” Yaarit Peretz said wryly at the time.

For days, the Peretz family wondered whether the couple had been killed or had been kidnapped. Yaarit Peretz said he had heard reports that Erick was seen running away with Ruth in his arms but could not confirm any information and had yet to hear from them.

“It’s crazy because so much time has passed and there’s still no answer,” he said before finally learning their fate on Wednesday.
