Bodycam captures terrifying moment IDF soldier comes face-to-face with Hamas terrorists — and takes them out

Scary bodycam footage shows an Israeli special operations soldier confronted two Hamas terrorists in a Gaza building and eventually led them out, even after being wounded by a grenade thrown at him, Israel said on Tuesday.

The encounter was captured by the helmet camera of a member of the elite Yahalom unit in the Israel Defense Forces’ Combat Engineering Corps when he ran into a pair of Hamas operatives in an apartment in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City.

The Israeli soldier fired repeatedly at the man from the doorway before ducking back into the alley for cover as they tried to shoot him.

The Israel Defense Forces soldier was able to take out the terrorist closest to him, but as he retreated for cover, a second Hamas member threw a grenade that exploded right in front of the Israeli fighter.

The Yahalom member was thrown backwards and passed out in a cloud of smoke as the Hamas gunmen continued to fire.

Despite being wounded by the blast, the IDF soldier gathered himself and waited until the shooting had ended before returning to the door and opening fire.

Shejaiya and Jabalya continued to see heavy fighting as the IDF made the area the last two Hamas strongholds to be destroyed in northern Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday that two Hamas bases had been surrounded and that IDF soldiers were “close to dismantling” them.

The IDF soldier recovered quickly after being hit by a grenade. IDF

“We are close to a breaking point in the northern Gaza Strip,” Gallant said, calling on Hamas fighters in the area to surrender as hundreds have done so far.

Shejaiya also recently witnessed the disappearance of his battalion commander, Emad Krikae, one of the suspected leaders behind the missile attack and raid that took place on 7 October.

He was killed by Israeli forces, as was his predecessor who was listed last week among a dozen other commanders taken out in airstrikes across Gaza.
