Bowen Yang is taking a much-needed mental health break to deal with traumatic abuse from her parents early in her life.

The comedian shared the bold decision with his followers via an Instagram Story posted over the weekend.
“Taking a brief break from [‘Las Culturistas’]. A bad Depersonalization attack made me feel bad, but I’m doing my best to improve!”
He ended his message, indicating that he wouldn’t be gone for long. “Please be careful, now.” Yang has shared details from her past that would suggest that she is a candidate for someone with Depersonalization.
It lights up in people with past trauma, and those with little trauma. He has joked about it, but it is a real issue that he has dealt with.
Bowen Sent To A Conversion Camp

A few years ago, Yang shared that her parents had sent her to a gay conversion camp. In PEOPLE magazine’s 2021 Sexiest Man Alive issue, which details the gruesome account. “Neither side really understands where the other is coming from, and it leads to a dangerous situation overall,” he said of the revelation that he was gay and his parents’ feelings.
It did not lead to hatred between Yang and her parents. “What is constant is the intention of love on both sides.” He continued. “It pushed me to question what it means, what is protected, and what should I protect as a queer person. I don’t take it for granted.”
To this day, he feels “humble” around his fame. Even being the first Asian-American and openly gay comic Saturday Night Live did not subside.
‘Las Culturistas’ Is A Hit

The top-rated podcast is co-hosted with Matt Rogers and has been on the air since 2016. The duo often gets A-list celebrities as guests and has only gotten better since his and Rogers’ rise to fame.
There is no word on when the podcast will return, but as Yang has mentioned, he will be back soon. The last guest they had on the show was Kelly Clarkson. The singer congratulated her on her divorce and laughed it off with the men in the studio.
Both also kill Watch What Happens Live last week, where Yang was very enthusiastic and seemed excited to hear her two cents about Raquel Leviss and Sandoval.

The actor’s Instagram account is quite sparse; most of the posts fans see about him are on the Las Culturistas podcast page. The podcast’s Instagram page doesn’t talk about the break Yang is taking.
Rogers also kept quiet about his co-worker’s decision. The besties s support in silence. May Yang be back doing what he does best, making people laugh! His career has been on the upswing lately.
In 2022, he is in Pulau Api, a movie written by his good friend Joel Kim Booster. He’s also a main character on SNL and will be in Wicked and the upcoming Garfield movie.
