The singer is set to reprise her role as the beloved Disney princess after she made history as the first black actress to portray her in 1997. As the “Zoe Ever After” star was a stunner in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” fans already know that she’ll be bringing her game to the upcoming Disney+ original movie, “The Pocketwatch” — the latest in the “Descendants” series.

Brandy delighted her fans around the world after announcing her upcoming role in the Disney+ production. The 43-year-old has uploaded three images to his Instagram, with the first two being screenshots of Variety breaking the news.

The last slide is a headshot of the actor and actress who will co-star in the film. According to the slides, the latest installment in the “Descendants” franchise will also star Rita Ora, China Anne McClain, Mia Baker, Gabby Duran, Kylie Cantrall and Dara Reneé. Brandy captioned the announcement:

“Excited to join this amazing cast and reprise my role as #Cinderella in #DisneyDescendants sequel The Pocketwatch. Thanks to @disney and my @disneyplus family ** Still Can.”

The film musical will feature Cantrall as Red — the rebellious teenage daughter of the ‘Queen of Hearts’, opposite Baker’s Chloe, the bubbly but naive daughter of ‘Prince Charming’ and ‘Cinderella’.

The two cross paths during an important festival in the kingdom of Auradon that is disrupted by unexpected chaos. Red and Chloe must join forces to go back in time via a magical pocket watch made by the Mad Hatter’s son to prevent an impending coup.

“The Pocketwatch” was written by Russell Sommer and Dan Frey and directed by Jennifer Phang. Gary Marsh and Suzanne Todd are executive producers, with Phang co-producing.
