Brian Austin Green Got A Vasectomy After Sixth ‘Unplanned’ Baby

Not a fan of surprises, Brian Austin Green revealed a major life decision after welcoming his baby that his wife Sharna Burgess described as a “birth control baby.”

The reality star has been praised for being a great dad after his son came out as gay, and this new revelation could be another blow to his shiny hat.

The father of six revealed that he opted for a vasectomy following the birth of his 19-month-old son, Zane, after eight weeks of including him on his podcast with his wife. Detailing his experience, the podcaster said:

“Zane was born and I was like, ‘I think it’s time to close up shop.’

To bolster Green’s story, Burgess describes Zane as a “birth control baby” who was completely unplanned but still found his way into the world. Well, following the epic failure of their birth control option, Green opted for a vasectomy until they were ready to expand their family.

The decision came as a big relief to Burgess, who admitted that birth control always made her feel uncomfortable.

“So, I’m very grateful for that. It’s a big, beautiful thing he does, and it guarantees comfort and no stress in our sex life — don’t worry, if we’re real or not. [pregnant]which is a gift,” added the 38-year-old.

Burgess went on to explain that should they decide to have more children; they will eventually explore the IVF route.

Apparently, Zane’s pregnancy wasn’t the only surprise Green had to deal with; In fact, he admits that all his children came unplanned, but he has no regrets about them.

Green and Burgess got engaged last July after dating for three years and then celebrated their joy in June 2022. Before the birth of Zane, Green shared three sons with actress and ex-wife Megan Fox and a son, Kassius Lijah, with ex-girlfriends Vanessa Marcil, whom she described as co-parenting as “difficult.”

For Fox, they share a rather friendly relationship, as he explained, “When we need to, we communicate well, we’re open to things, we don’t take things personally. It’s my goal, and I think it’s his goal as well, that the kids are healthy [of an] environment as they can be.”

The Blast noted that the actress also talked about what it’s like to raise a gay son in October after her 21-year-old son Kassius came out.

In a podcast with NSYNC’s Lance Bass, the reality star was praised for keeping an open mind and engaging in positive parenting techniques in dealing with Kassius. Bass said:

“He’s so lucky to be in your family because a lot of kids out there don’t understand that. And even if their parents accept them, there are many times when the child still knows that they still do not agree with him.

Despite the new terrain, Green reveals that things remain largely the same, and the process of accepting Kassius’ sexual orientation doesn’t come with as many complications.

“I’m going into this conservation with Kash where I really want to understand things that seem so different to me at first. And then you realize, ‘Oh, this isn’t different at all.’ It’s just your partner’s choice. It doesn’t affect me at all,” the 50-year-old added.

Green also shared how he became protective of Kassius, especially in the face of homophobia, bullying, and unprovoked negative opinions, adding that:

“And that’s the thing I’m always trying to get people over now — it doesn’t affect you. Why do you care so much? And why are you trying to bully your feelings and opinions into something that doesn’t affect you at all?”

He then described the whole experience of seeing his son enter a new phase of his life as exciting, unlike what most people feel. In his words:

“I think a lot of people are afraid of the unknown, but I’m not. To me, it’s interesting. And I want to learn about it.”

Burgess also testified to Green’s parenting ability when he wrote her an emotional birthday tribute last July. He described the podcaster as the ideal father to the children and reiterated that he was “blessed to be around” wherever Green and the children were.
