Fans are eager to see what Britney Spears has to say about her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, in her memoir “The Woman In Me,” which was officially released on Tuesday, October 24. An insider told Us Weekly on Thursday that part of the book focuses on their relationship since they were both younger.
Britney, now 41, reportedly described how she returned from her 2002 tour to see her mother, Lynne Spears, dealing with the aftermath of her divorce from her father, Jamie Spears. Britney reportedly called 11-year-old Jamie Lynn “a b—-” because of the way she treated Lynne during the divorce.
The “Gimme More” singer also noted how Jamie Lynn “ruled” their home, which left Britney feeling “betrayed” by all the ways her sister had “changed” while she was on tour. Although Jamie Lynn started to emerge as a star in her own right when she appeared on “Zoey 101,” her sudden pregnancy made her decide to step out of the spotlight and prompted her decision to raise her daughter back in Louisiana.

During an emotional court hearing in June 2021, as reported by the outlet, Britney Spears accused Jamie Spears and the “Sweet Magnolias” actress of taking advantage of her during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 until she was sentenced to death by a judge in November 2021.
“I honestly want to sue my family, to be honest with you. I also want to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a secret to benefit them all,” Britney said at the time.
Jamie Lynn, however, said that she is on Britney’s side. “Maybe I don’t support her as much as people want me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I have supported my sister long before there was a hashtag,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “And I will support him long after. Notice that.”

Even though the “Zoey 102” star is releasing her own memoir titled “Things I Should Say” in January 2022, it seems that Britney is still upset about what her sister said about her. Britney took to social media at the time to ask her sister to “please, please stop this crazy lie for the Hollywood books” and also called her sister “garbage,” as previously reported by The Blast.
Despite their public social media feud at the time, it seems Britney wants to get the last word on Jamie Lynn’s memoir. An insider told the outlet that Britney did discuss the memoir in her book, but didn’t reveal exactly what was said, except that Britney “lashed out” at him.
In January 2022, Jamie Lynn appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast to give fans more insight into her strained relationship with her sister. “There are two separate things here — there’s my relationship with me and my sister, and there’s another part where I have the right to defend my name and defend my family to protect my family,” Jamie Lynn said at the time.

“That can be separate where I say, like, ‘You don’t know what you’re talking about. Here are the facts, and you want the truth? This is the truth.’ And then the separate part is that this is my sister that I know and that I love, and when every title is gone and everything is done, I will still be her sister,” she continued.
“Its okay. And people need to stop putting themselves in our situation and go ahead and encourage it,” he concluded.
Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
