Since her 13-year conservatorship ends in November 2021, fans have been wondering how the pop star is spending her time. In an interview with People magazine ahead of the release of her memoir next Tuesday, she told the magazine that she is a “simple girl” who likes to spend her free time playing with her dog and watching “Friends.”
“I really love people. I love God, I still love my family and close friends, I love tea parties and dinner parties. My friend Cade [Hudson] took me to dinner where I met the most creative people I admire who make me laugh,” he said, referring to his old manager.
Britney explained that she is still “learning this new freedom” and admitted that it can be “challenging at times” to learn her limits. Even so, he likes to spend his free time “playing with my dog [or] watch the episode Friends and belly laughs.”

Looking ahead, the “Piece Of Me” singer said she’s trying to take things “one day at a time” and “learn to breathe.” She goes on to say that self-love is “very important” to her as she continues her healing journey.
“I woke up and just cried because I was so grateful to be in such a beautiful place,” Britney wrote in a recent Instagram post, according to the outlet. “Then I thought about my relationship with Instagram at the moment … it’s addicting!!! But when other people’s opinions affect you, that’s when people stop.”

Unfortunately, the Princess of Pop didn’t venture out much during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. During that time, her personal and financial affairs were largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears. At the time, Britney said she became a “robot” in an excerpt from “The Woman In Me” released by People magazine on Tuesday.
“I became a robot. But not just a robot – a kind of childish robot. I had become so childish that I had lost a piece of what made me feel like myself,” she wrote in her memoirs. “Conservation had stripped me of my femininity, made I was a child. I became more of an entity than a person on stage. I always felt the music in my bones and blood; they stole that from me.”
She said that she felt like a “shadow of herself” as she tried to navigate being a teenager and a woman at the same time.

“This is what’s hard to explain, how quickly I can vacillate between being a little girl and being a teenager and being a woman, because of the way they’ve taken away my freedom. There was no way to behave like an adult, because they wouldn’t treat me like an adult, so I would step back and act like a little girl; but then my grown-up self would retreat — only my world wouldn’t let me grow up,” she wrote.
“The woman in me was pushed down for a long time. They want me to be wild on stage, as they say to me, and be a robot all the time. I feel like I’ve been stripped of the secrets of the good life — the cardinal sins of the pleasures and adventures that make us human. They want to take away that privilege and keep everything as it is,” he continued, adding, “It’s death to my creativity as an artist.”
Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
