In an excerpt from “The Woman In Me” released by CBS News, Britney claimed that she went through conservatorship for “a very good reason,” adding, “I did it for my kids.” In her memoirs, she wrote, “Because I played by the rules, I was reunited with my son.”
Britney has two sons, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. During the conservatorship, her father, Jamie Spears, was appointed conservator and controlled everything from her finances to her physical appearance.
“Although I begged the court to literally appoint someone else – and I mean, anyone off the street would have been better – my father was given the job,” she wrote.
