Pop star Britney Spears is reflecting on her first kiss with Justin Timberlake.
The two dated from 1999 to 2002, and, as the world learned on Tuesday, had an unplanned pregnancy that they decided to end before they ended their three-year relationship.

On Tuesday, excerpts from “The Woman In Me” were published by People magazine that revealed Britney’s early career on “The Mickey Mouse Club” and her growing relationship with her ex, Justin Timberlake.
“Being on the show was a boot camp for the entertainment industry: extensive dance training, singing lessons, acting classes, time in the recording studio, and school in between,” she wrote in her memoir, noting that she first appeared on the show on in 1993. As Britney explained:
“The Mouseketeers quickly split into our own group, divided by the dressing room we shared: Christina Aguilera and I were the younger kids, and we shared a dressing room. We look up to the older kids–Keri Russell, Ryan Gosling, and Tony Lucca, who I think is very handsome. And I immediately connected with a boy named Justin Timberlake.”

Behind the scenes of “The Mickey Mouse Club,” the two began their relationship. “[Once] during sleep, we played Truth or Dare, and someone dared Justin to kiss me,” she wrote. “A Janet Jackson song was playing in the background as she leaned in and kissed me.”
Although the “Hold Me Closer” singer described working on the show as “a lot of fun,” she admitted that it was “really hard work,” with her and her friends expected to practice choreography and routines “thirty times a day.”

In another excerpt of “The Woman In Me,” released by People magazine on Tuesday, Britney opens up about the unplanned pregnancy that ultimately led to the end of her relationship.
“It’s a shock, but for me, it’s not a tragedy. I love Justin so much. I always hope we have a family together one day. This will be sooner than I expected,” he wrote in his memoirs. “But Justin is definitely not happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were too young.”

“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it was left up to me, I wouldn’t do it. But Justin was so adamant that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced in my life.”
The “Cry Me A River” singer then married actress Jessica Biel in 2012. The couple share sons Silas, 8, and Phineas, 3. Meanwhile, Britney, who was married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, welcomed two sons: Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17.
